    boat hair ?

    sounds intresting :p .

    FIX THAT Kumba :p .

I don't know if you know already Kumba but it is possible to fix black hole glitches ... it only requires some winhack knowledge ....
for as far as I can see the tile on which the black hole appaers got erased from the memory (most of the times it becomes an object). it is fixable by tracking that missing tile and put an land tile in it again.
I did it in two parks now without any troubles ....

    :D 800the post :D

when merging tracks, is there any tips that I should know? Like, certain track segments that cannot be merged? Do you have to merge 2 plain, straight sections of track, or can you merge other pieces like sloped, banked, stations, brakes, block brakes, etc...

Ok, since this has been ressurected, I'll say something: I CANNOT HACK. I mean I can, but if it's on powered launched mode, it crashes. If it's on Boat Hire mode, I get an error trapper. EVERY GODDAMN TIME. Not once have I been successful. Any tips or help or something cause I'm getting pissed...
  • geewhzz%s's Photo
Yes.....if you are merging with 8cars you are merging with the wrong track (the from track or to track has to be correct). Also, before testing with the mode, right click on the station entry so you get the white blinking highlight and scroll through the track with the build arrows the way your train will be traveling...if you merged it right, it should scroll through fine...if it doesn't, you did the merge wrong, and power launch will crash and boat hire will error trap.

^ Thanks for that last tip. That will really help me prevent crashes and trappers.

Im getting the "white" track as soon as I place a piece of track with clearances zeroed, even before i close any windows. IS there any way to prevent this?
  • geewhzz%s's Photo
I would just learn in 8cars...it honestly isn't that hard...I've always found the other way to be a bigger pain in the ass.
  • Carl%s's Photo
Ive tried that way too. I get an error and 8cars closes every time I try to raise a track piece...
  • geewhzz%s's Photo
    What version?
  • Carl%s's Photo
    I am using version 1.302

    this is the error:

"8cars1302.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log is being created."
  • geewhzz%s's Photo
Very weird...try redownloading it? What version of windows are you running?

    I have WIN2K.

I have even tried doing this in a workbench park, separate from my project, and the same thing happens. Here is what I am doing:

    - I am building 2 track "sections" which together form a complete circuit, with their ends touching. The ends are recolored to Alt color #1
    - I open 8cars, select the ride, check the raise/lower box, change the mode to powered launch, select the Alt color #1 to raise, and put a "2" in the height offset box, and click "OK". Then the error appears. And since Ive done this same procedure in both my park, and in an empty bench, I know the error is not from previous uses of 8cars.

It might be win2k. I doubt it's anything you're doing in game if it happens every time you try and use the raise/lower function of 8cars.

^ The same thing happens for me, and I have 2K too.

On another note, I finally got a merge to work.

seems like the raise lower function of the 8-cars trainer doesn't work on win2k (and the newest version of the 8-cars trainer has also troubles with winXP).
but you could use object manipulation to for the raising and lowering ;) .
  • Gwazi%s's Photo
Could somebody link me or PM me an older version of 8Cars (Not v1.32)? I have v1.32, but it won't let me raise/lower rides, and I can't find a single working link to an older 8Cars...
