Buh? TWO blowouts in a row? Twice where the Lakers turned it on in the 4th quarter? WOW! I hope this continues!

    Hi Ed! :D
  • Coaster Ed%s's Photo
Yup. Another fourth quarter collapse from the Kings. Who's surprised? I'm not. The playoffs seem like only a remote possibility at this point. They're playing terrible on the road and there aren't enough home games left to make up for it. I hope they tank the rest of the way to improve their draft position (which isn't even that great of a fallback considering the quality of the draft this year). And what happened to Bonzi? Is he going to miss the rest of the season or what? Bah, whatever. At least we didn't trade Caron Butler for Kwame Brown. :)

Speaking of bad trades and generally horrible GM's....

    EDIT:

    DAMMIT.

You win this round, Clippers!!!
  • Brent%s's Photo
Um, we've won two of the three games this season. Like everyone (everyone, news stations and radio), LA's team is changing to the Clips. And now the national audience knows that (with it being shown on ESPN and all).

The first 5 mins were horrible with only 5 points scored total by both teams. LAL did the TO, then after that, totally started to get owned going to 13-2 at which point they TO'd a second time (never seen two TO's wasted so quickly in my life), and kinda got it back together, but there was no way the Clips were gonna let them skid down to 6 games. Those three's to make it 10 and 13 were amazing, just what I've been waiting to see from them and Vlade brings that with the recent trade. They picked up some Free-Agent too.. dunno who, but with Maggette coming back as early as the Utah game (today or tomorrow), and Vlade, and the new FA, they really could finally once-again gain the top seed in the West.

Can't wait to see how the next 20 games or so turn out!
  • Corkscrewed%s's Photo
Call him Vlad. Everytime you say "Vlade" I think "Divac."

BTW, "everyone" is a bandwagon hopper. When you get killed in the playoffs, they'll go back to ragging on the Clips.

    EDIT:

    @(*%&*()@!&$(*!!!

Alright, after losing to the Celtics AT HOME, I hereby declare that we do not deserve to make the playoffs. 8@
  • Jellybones%s's Photo
I haven't watched even a piece of a Celtics game since December, but I saw that on Sportscenter and I laughed.
Unfortunately though, that means I can't participate in the favorite-team-blog that this topic has become. You may now return to your regularly scheduled Lakers/Clippers/Rockets discussion thread.

(None of the teams you guys always talk about are even good. Yes, even the Clippers. If you think they stand any chance against the Spurs or the Mavs or the Suns, you are delusional.)
  • Corkscrewed%s's Photo
I don't. But you gotta keep hope that somehow, the train wreck that Mitch Kupchak assembled will be able to crack the playoffs so they can lose in the first round.
  • Brent%s's Photo
If they Lakers go in against Dallas, I think they'll go on to the second round, but only if they go against them.

Clippers wise... they can ball with Dallas, so I hope they go up against them.

But regarding current games... holy crap, Clippers owned NOK last night! 16 points for them the ENTIRE second half! An NBA all-time record! So sick... measly 8 points in both the third and fourth quarter. If they can keep the D up, oh man....
  • Corkscrewed%s's Photo
Meanwhile the Lakers still can't beat crappy teams. At this point, they don't deserve to make the playoffs. I was hoping this inconsistency was gone after the all star break, but nope. :(

If either LA team goes up against Dallas, they will be swept. Hell the Rockets have a MUCH better shot of beating them then either LA team (as evidence from last year's seven game series).

People are lunatics thinking they can handle the Mavs. They are 46 - 11!
  • Corkscrewed%s's Photo
Oh c'mon. All Kobe needs to do is score 62 points in three quarters each in four different games and we'll DESTROY the Mavs!

(For the record, the only team that will be able to handle the Mavs will be the Spurs. Or the Pistons. Altho a Mavs/Suns West Finals would be like the highest scoring series in sports history.)
  • Fatha'%s's Photo
    Thats true.

Sad thing is though, two of my friends (each clipper and laker fans respectively) actually BELIEVE that their teams can beat Dallas.

    clowns they are.
  • Corkscrewed%s's Photo
I think the Lakers could take a game or two from Dallas... if they played like they played against the Spurs tonight.

Yeah, we trailed throughout the game, but I liked the defensive pressure we put on the Spurs and the energy we exhibited, not really giving up until the very end. Frankly, the Spurs shot the lights out tonight and executed as well as you can, so you just tip your hat and say good job.

But if the Lakers play like this the rest of the season, they might actually get up to #6 (which is the best spot to be this year). :D
  • Corkscrewed%s's Photo
Great, with the Clips beating the Spurs by 13 one night after the Spurs were practically perfect in turning back the Lakers, I don't think we're gonna hear the of Brent until the Clips get eliminated from the playoffs.
  • Brent%s's Photo
While this is an exciting night, it's no where near the rest of my weekend, with getting on Motion City Soundtrack's bus to meet/take pic with Justin, then on Sunday being on the press list for the XBOX Tour and interviewing Panic! At The Disco on their tour bus... I'm just still in shock over all of it, lol.

But yes, this was an amazing win tonight. I was too scared to watch so up until the last 4 minutes of the game I only turned to the game every 20 mins or so, still in disbelief. I actually don't think it's that great of a win as it would be if say, it wasn't a game that SA had a game the night before like they did with the Lakers. Even though they did beat them, they could still be tired... resting on their 3rd day in So Cal, lol.

The next two weeks are going to be crazy for the last 5 spots in the Western Conference though, like they were mentioning during the game. Lakers could very well fall out with Sacramento taking their place, and many other things can happen with the other teams. Sounds all weird, but yeah... can't wait for the season to end for some Clipper Playoff action.
  • Corkscrewed%s's Photo
You can keep your 5th place. I want 6th! :D
  • Brent%s's Photo
No... I hope we get the 6th place spot, so as not to go against Dallas or SA. Or just surge and get the top spot in our division.
  • Brent%s's Photo
And the Clippers leave Chicago with a win... a rather close one almost the entire game due to Chicago hitting three after three after three, but not enough to come out the overall winner. Thank god too, they needed this win after losing the them back in January back home @ Staples. Next up is the Bucks...

And the Lakers have just beaten the Spurs in San Antonio... which is impressive, but then you look at SA's schedule and see that they've played 6 games in 9 days. But hey, a win's a win.
  • Fatha'%s's Photo
Ha T-Mac out for the season....wow.
  • Corkscrewed%s's Photo
See, Brent? We can beat the Spurs when they're tired too. :p

And T-Mac out the season??? Dammit. Well, it says "up to 5 weeks," but that never means jack because he's come back after three days when he was supposed to miss two weeks.

But now I dunno if I should drop him in another league, or keep him and hope he comes back. :(

EDIT: Ah great, he's on the "can't cut" list. That's ridiculous. I'm stuck with a useless guy, and Yahoo abolished the injured list, so that costs me a player. 8@

BTW, Boris Diaw is ridiculous. He's eligible as SG, SF, PF, and C.
