Maybe something like killing yourself, theoretically, is not hard to do at all.... yet in practice, it's hard. See, in theory, you could just stop breathing (though i think its actually impossible in theory because of practice but that's just because i picked a bad example) Actually doing it is harder. It's against your nature, damnit.
And aeroglobe, metal has a point. On average, the chances of all your friends wanting to kill themselves(say, it's 5...) is quite low. Yet, when you are the cause of depression, it gets considerably higher! (yet, still, it would be quite low, as most people would never give a fuck! unless, you're friends are chosen because they in fact do, give a fuck, then we're not talking chances we're talking about a handmade selection, of friends to become friends with to make them kill themselves, and succeed. -

suicidal moments are just that... moments. No one "tries" to kill themselves ALL DAY LONG.
But, it does say something about our society when people are so afraid of our social order that they have to lash out like this to get any attention.
It's generally a childish reaction to feeling insignificant, or ignored (then again, i say the same about religion). Usually, it's the environment they live in that causes such feelings. Actual depression is a chemical imbalance, or is brought upon by extreme emotional trauma. Granted, extreme emotional trauma can either be a moment, or it can be constant occurence that builds up, like a burden you carry that you can't tell anyone about out of fear, and eventually you just SNAP from the pressure. -

trav, I found this by following links through your Department of Health's website. They may be able to help you with talking to your friends about depression or help you get your friends some help.
