Some of the stupidest penalties I have ever seen. The refs couldn't call shit and the Panthers weren't even playing. Did thay prepare at all for this game?
I didn't see Jake Delhomme attempt any crazy 80 yard pass which they seem to always pull off, besides the TD pass near the end of the 4th quarter. He also enjoyed throwing the ball straight to the other team.
The Seahawks are gonna get raped by the Steelers. -

Twas a bad for Quarterback's named "Jake" yesterday. Both of their mistakes cost them the games.
Oh well, metal. We both had a dream. At least we can say the Panthers and Broncos had "winning seasons".
Go Steelers. :/ -

The Steelers are like the Angels of football... got in via the Wild Card, then opened (in the Steelers case, just played) on the road each week... then going and winning it all. -

Care to back that up instead of just sounding like a sore loser or something (just saying; I actually didn't pay attention to most of the game, but it seemed relatively well reffed)? -

The one play at the end of the first half, you mean? Unless that was a magical 11-point touchdown, I guess it wasn't that big a deal.
While I think the game was a little closer than the score showed, the Steelers won outright. The Seahawks were very messy throughout; they definitely didn't look ready for the big time. -

Ever since the wardrobe malfunction, the NFL's been in a perpetual Risque-Prevent Defense. -

The refs did make a couple really bad calls honestly, and I'm not a fan of either team.
First was the extremely ticky-tack offensive pass interference call on Darrell Jackson in the end zone, for a "push off" when much worse is done by both reciever and corner back on almost every single play.
Secondly was the phantom offensive holding call on the lineman for the Seahawks which erased a pass from Hasselbeck that took them to the 1 yard line. Instead of being able to just hand it to Alexander for an easy-ish touchdown (and take the lead at that point), they were backed up and ended up throwing a pick the next play, which in turn ended the game.
Still, not the most fun super bowl to watch. Then again...what game with the Steelers IS fun to watch? It's amazing a team with Antwaan Randle El, Hines Ward, and Willie Parker (three of the most exciting players in football) could be so boring. And the Seahawks aren't a whole lot better with their 75 short slant routes a game that they throw. Still...it was a pretty decent game, and congrats to the Steelers..at least it was a good way to send the Bus off. -

I agree there were some iffy calls....some big ones too. In particular, the Darrell Jackson play and the Ben Roethelisberger TD. Both of these calls went Pittsburgh's way, which ended up being the difference in the game (+/-14 points) and just shows you how the officiating can decide the winner
But yeah, a fairly drab game. In the end, I was kinda glad to see the Steeler's win because of all the storylines involved (Coher, Bettis, first #6 seed to win...etc), plus it makes the Broncos look better since we can say we lost to the world champs...
