Pats getting hot when it counts. Don't think Indy will run the table now... that aura's been knocked around a tad. -

They never had a chance to win it all really. I'll be shocked if they do. We're talking about our team that lost to the Dolphins here, for god's sake. And don't listen to all the media bullshit that we were looking ahead, either---the Chargers are most certainly not that stupid. However, they do have trouble starting the second half, and while the Dolphins took advantage, the Colts couldn't, even after taking the lead. I haven't seen many Colts games this year, but I didn't see a 13-0 team out there today. Maybe all the talk of them being overrated wasn't just jealousy around the league after all. -

I mean, Peyton only has the best rating in NFL right now, must mean nothing I mean they lost a game. There only 13-1. Seriously? Who gives a shit about the whole fucking undefeated shit. What if they lost mid season. 13-1 is a fucking amazing record and they have played some tough teams over the season. Colts worked hard to get where they are.
Go Carolina! -

So... a slew of coach firings/retirements over the past few days:
Oakland- Norv Turner (fired)
Kansas City- Dick Vermeil (retired)
St. Louis- Mike Martz (fired)
New Orleans- Jim Haslett (fired)
Minnesota- Mike Tice (fired)
Green Bay- Mike Sherman (fired)
Houston- Dom Capers (fired)
Detroit- Steve Mariucci (fired in November)
Plus, a chance of a Bill Parcells retirement lingers... but I doubt it for the moment. The Cowboys were just a good kicker away from making the postseason. -

Some really good football this weekend. Here are my predictions:
VS
This is the game that excites me the most this weekend. I have to go with the Steelers here. I think Hines Ward (as long as Ben stays on target) will be huge with Bettis holding down the run game. I think Carson Palmer will struggle to get the ball to his receivers with strong pressure coming from Pittsburgh defensive line. I think Cinncinati's keys to winning are 3rd down conversions and not turning over the ball.
MY WINNER = PITTSBURGH
VS
Neither of these teams really hit me as the obvious winner, but they both have been playing well recently. Byron Leftwich is probable to play and will be a key to Jacksonville's success since New England is good at stopping the run. Likewise, Brady has his work cut out for him since I don't see the Pats winning this with their run game alone. There should be a lot of action is this clout.
MY WINNER = JACKSONVILLE
VS
I think the key to this game will be Clinton Portis. If Portis can successfully run the ball, it will open up Washington's passing game. I see the ball going to Santana Moss a lot (as long as Brunell remains consistant) which could light up the scoreboard. On the other side, Tampa's success will rely on their offensive front to stop pressure on Chris Simms. If Simms has time in the pocket, he should be able to remain efficient enough to win this game. If Tampa can stop Portis, which I see them doing, they will win this one.
MY WINNER = TAMPA BAY
VS
Now this should be a battle. New York's major weakness imo is inconsistancy. They either are playing great or playing terrible, a lot of which has depended a lot on Eli Manning's performance. Whereas Carolina is almost the complete opposite; a team that remains consistant enough to win. Carolina's offense tends to step up and make big plays when their defense doesn't and vice-versa. Steve Smith will get the ball, that's for sure, and it all depends what he can do with it. Imo, if New York can find a balance and consistantly move the ball down the field, they should squeak this one out. I see Tiki Barber being the difference here, so I'm going with NY.
MY WINNER = NEW YORK -

that has to be one of the worst playoff wins ever. what was it, 120 some yards of offense? -

A lot of action, JKay? The Pats game has to be one of the most boring games I've seen in a long time, so far. I'm also not just about offense firepower, I mean, I just can't keep my eyes on the game. -

Well, at least he got one right.
Hope you didn't have money riding on those picks, JKay. -

JKay, your predictions suck.

Um, yeah, my predictions did suck. And no Jelly, I didn't have any money on those picks, thank god.
BUT AT LEAST THE STEELERS WON!
So, my Broncos play New England next week. Jelly, You want to make a little wager?
I'll make somemore predictions later this and hopefully redeem myself. -

Okay, I'm gonna make some predictions this time...
VS
Redskins blow. The seahawks will win. What is a seahawk anyways?
WINNER: SEAHAWKS
VS
I wanna say the Broncos so bad, but I can't. I hate the Patriots, but I know that if they want it, then they can win. Even if half of their team is handicapped.
WINNER: PATRIOTS
VS
I am really looking forward to this game. I have no idea who is going to win, but I expect it to be a good game. I'm just going to take a wild guess on this one and say...
WINNER: STEELERS
VS
BEARS ARE GONNA GET RAPED, BITCH!
WINNER: MOTHER FUCKING PANTHERS, NIGGA! -

Kinda late but...
vs
I got the Colts on this one... even though all of my dad's side of the fam reigns from Steeler town, but I just really don't think they'll be able to win, especially again @ the RCA Dome.
vs
Da Bears are gonna get pulverized in this one... all Chicagoians or whatever are gonna be cryin. It's just gonna be ugly.
Next round:
vs
I got the Bronco's on this... especially with Alexander's injury today.
vs
Colts over Carolina...
SuperBowl:
vs
I think this is the year Peyton finally wins it all. Jake the snake Plummer is gonna blow it. Sorry J Kay.Edited by The Beta Factor, 14 January 2006 - 10:05 PM.

Bad calls + 5(Turnovers) = A disaster of a game.
Oh well, it was a good run. Can't complain about 3 of 4.
EDIT: Ben Watson making Champ Bailey look like a damn fool on that INT return made up for every shitty play the Pats made except for the final score. Man that was nice. -

the colts have been a complete disgrace throughout this game today. the defense looked like absolute crap. and the sad thing is, if we won this game we would have played the bronchos in the super bowl and we killed them earlier this season....Edited by newk, 15 January 2006 - 02:42 PM.
