Pro Tour 2 / It REALLY Begins This Time!

Just letting everyone know that I haven't touched mine in 3 weeks! :)

Not to mention the park is due on my finals date. Can we make it February 25th?
that last part was a joke.

I think last time I made mine (the vast majority anyway) in about a week's time. Although, that was also given some extra time because it was during the summer.

It seems that this years problem is that everybody expected the one month extension and most people already planed to finish at the end of january.

So am I again the fastest parkmaker? Did mine in like 18 days flat, G:C in 10 days, and my Survivor section in 4 days :p

    Again?....

you say that like you've always been the fastest parkmaker. I beg to differ. No one will ever fuck with my 52-day record to build a 120x120. RMM was built in less than 100 days. I built several of my QFTBX entries in less than 14 days and still managed to win. More than half Rapper's Delite was built in less than 36 hours. Oh, and not to mention 3 or 4 deathmatches that I owned.

Kumba, you can just admit I'm faster than you. :p

Well I was here before you :p

I think I was consiterd the fastest back then, mainly for Dimensions.

Hey calm down! You're both arguing like some school girls!

And besides, you all know I'm the fastest... ;)

Yeah. I wouldn't have had a chance if it was still due on Christmas, since I wasn't working that furiously just before then, like I would've otherwise. And if the deadline were to be moved up to February 25th, the same thing would probably happen. But I think it's also just that the park idea I took on is just too detailed and is something I shouldn't have tackled for this. I think if I'd chosen an easier idea, but I'd worked just as much as I have, I'd be done by now.

Also, I noticed something interesting. The original due date (Christmas) was the exact one year anniversary of when I first decided that I wanted to make the park that I'm doing for the PT2.

Anyways, I'd say my park is at about 70%. There are a lot of little things, like landscaping, that I've hardly even touched. But the map is about 70% filled with only about 5 big things I need to do. So at least 5 more days of hard work, which is equivalent to ? days of normal (normal=slow) work. If I could just sit down, and do those things, the map would really fill up. I still have quite a bit of archy to do though too. I have a feeling I'm going to rushing a lot near the end.

There is one big possible complication in my project that may make it so that I can't release it for... another year. :<img src=:' /> I'll explain the unusual situation if it turns out I won't be able to release it. Hopefully it won't be a problem.

:o Didn't it take longer than that for it to actually be announced spotlight?

It was close, although I think the spotlight announcement only took 75 days or so...

    Anyway, more about the PT.

I'm getting excited about this now, seeing all these people talking smack about how good their parks are and all. This should be great. I only have two fears now.

    (1) finishing my park in time
    (2) how long judging will take

wouldn't it be funny if you didn't finish, haha.

also, jkay, i think i remember iris saying that entries will begin being posted on valentine's day. of course there's always a possibility that that won't happen..
  • Corkscrewed%s's Photo
Nah... I'm at the point where if I had to turn it in tomorrow, I could basically "Mike Robbins" the rest of the park and it wouldn't look bad. ;)

Ok, I'm hitting the straightaway. All of my free time (which isn't much) is now dedicated to my PT2 park. I will work on it while watching the playoffs. There is much to be done...

Of course I should remind you all that it's going to be awful.

For some reason or another, I don't believe that... :p

Haha. I love watching people trash talk. And watching people try to out-modest each other.

By the way, I built a design in four hours. Not that it matters.

hahaha. This is classic stuff guys, I know I won't win but I WILL be the only non parkmaker to hit the top 5 (EAT THAT X250!!!!).

Oh and here's a screen that shows you a lot and absolutely nothing all at the same time:
