Hmm..  I was thinking about entering this but now that many of the PT2 participants are in I'm having second thoughts.

On the other hand, trav's in...  so sign me up.

..The teams are set up by a draft of members... recruited i believe, by the captains.

And I agree with tE.. lets get this going!!

But how do we decipher who is captain of teams and stuff.....

One more thing, will each team have a team forum and what not like the actual H2H.... also will the teams be able to set up trades and what not, like actual H2H, or the team that is drafted is the team we have throughout the entire mini-season?

The captains have been picked, but its not posted on the first page. And its only gona be 4 teams with 5 parkmakers each, maybe 6 parkmakers tho...

will the draft be live and will everyone be able to see who gets picked when?

Alright well as you guys can probably tell, I'm not the best administrator for this kind of thing because I'm so busy at school this week. Doing my best though.

A couple quick updates:

One about the overall scope of things. As happy as I am that people are gung-ho about this, I do want to keep it small, perhaps almost to the point of being an underground thing (although they will be posted on the front page so that's pretty much impossible). The reason for this is simple. I do not want to take away from the suspense building up around the Pro Tour by making the PT take a back seat to this. The PT is the most important NE-interactive event going on right now and I don't want to ruin that. And secondly, I want this to take away as little as possible for people getting solo stuff done. That's what still drives the site at the end of the day. The last thing I want to have happen is a complete moratorium on solo work around here because everybody's doing either this or the PT.

Alright then, moving on.

The captains I've pretty much chosen are Kumba, ride6, Giga, and cg?. These folks all have experience in some way or another (Kumba being captain last season, ride6 being unofficial semi-captain, Giga being H2H2 captain and leader of the NE coaster team and cg? being either H2H or H2H2). Being that this is a show driven majorly by younger folks, I thought it would be best to have some sort of solid base somewhere and I think experienced captains is a good bet. If there's anybody else that really, really, really wants to be a captain, you can beg and plead and I might rethink this.

The map size will basically be 50x50, just like old school H2H2 maps. Give or take a couple squares if you have to, just nothing past like 54 or 55 or smaller than like 45.

There will probably be around 8 to 10 days between matches.

The chat seems to work, so the draft will probably take place in the chat. It'll most likely be sometime near the end of the week.

I still haven't made up my mind about having four teams of 5 vs. four teams of 6. I suppose I'm leaning towards 6 a tad because the number of games will probably be six and in the real H2H there is a 1 to 1 ratio with the number of people on a team vs. the number of games in the season. I have no idea why that works, but it seems to.

The only rules governing who works on parks are that everybody on a team has to go once and that not more than 2 people can work on a park.

If we can get team forums working, they will most likely exist.

The season will probably start around the week of the 16th.

And if you asked me, I'd personally ditch the whole anonymity in the response thread thing, I think we were being a bit anal about that in H2H3. If you download old H2H1 parks such as Shanandoa Springs you will see that the parkmakers frequently put their names in the parks themselves. Not doing so is a good idea as was done in H2H2 I believe, but we don't need to be like OMGSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH altogether.

That's about it for now. I'm gonna contact my captain nominees tonight and see if they want to be participating or not, that will probably be the final factor in the team size.

Erg damn!... so much for my plans if i were a captain.

Nothing is set in stone. A new captain with plans can still be preferable to an old captain without plans. Kumba and ride6 are really adamant about being captains, and I'm pretty sure Giga is. I'll talk to cg? about it.

hehe. Hey, I just thought of something... What about trading? Will there be time for that or will this just start after the draft?

i think trading would be cool. we should do that.
But i thought that kind of came with the draft. Because, you know, you may not end up with everyone you want, so trading would be necessary.

I'm not so sure about trading. Changing lineups isn't nessecarily a good idea for a team, even if you do end up with "better" players. Besides, most of the non-captains are more-or-less equally skilled (slightly below-average to slightly-above), and the quality players won't be traded.

Also, it will delay the start of the game.

As for "being a captain", well, I would really like to be one. There's a reason I asked, after all, despite almost never posting anymore. However, if you feel someone else is more "qualified", or has more "desire", or whatever, then I won't mind... probably...

Tradeing is mostly why I signed up (maybe ride6 too) and I think its great, coz then if you do not like how you did in the draft you have a chance to do something about it. If your not for tradeing just don't make trades.

Subtract my long dramatic anxious post ......in summary, Kumba has very kindly offered to handle most of this from now on and because he knows what he's doing and has some management experience, I think he will be a much better man for the job than myself.

I guess SFMW on Friday will kinda make that day go by fast...
