66-19
And 13 of the Bruin points were pretty much given to them (though I still would have preferred a 66-6 final score).
Yeah, that felt good.
Alright Texas, bring it on! The Rose Bowl definitely won't be a blowout, but if we play at our best, we WILL win. -

But that would have been more fuel for the anti-Trojan conspiracists.
So, SA, Outlaw, others... let the trash talking begin. -

SC needs to lose; they're about as annoying as the Patriots were. Hook 'em horns all the way! -

So FSU sucks the whole year, ends up unranked, and gets a BCS birth based on ONE game. Unbelieveable. -

How is USC annoying? Just cuz we're the best?
I dunno. I don't feel our team is arrogant or anything like that that can make a team annoying. So I'm actually curious as to why you think we're annoying, unless it's just because of all the fame, and if that's the case, then you'll hate Texas next year because they'll be like us this year. Vince Young is coming back, and their offense will be basically intact.
Also, FSU wasn't crappy the whole year... just four out of the last five games. They WERE undefeated through at least five games.
BCS Bowls:
ROSE BOWL
(1) USC vs (2) Texas
ORANGE BOWL
(3) Penn State vs (23) Florida State
SUGAR BOWL
(7) Georgia vs (11) West Virginia
FIESTA BOWL
(4) Ohio State vs (6) Notre Dame -

USC isn't annoying....at least not like Miami was the year they thought they would kick the crap out of Ohio State and got shamed afterwards...
I don't realistically see Texas winning, although I would like to see USC get beat. It will be a good game, but I think Reggie Bush is just too much for any team out there. The guy is phenomenal.
I agree about FSU, although I like that team. But...its going up against Penn State, and I predict a huge blowout...Penn State is for real.
Georgia should win handily if they show up to play, if not, they still should win, but it may be closer than people think.
I think the best matchup is Ohio State vs Notre Dame. I think we will beat them though -

Notre Dame will have a chance to disprove everyone's gripes about their playing an easy schedule if they beat OSU, though, which is a solid defensive team. I'd definitely put them right below that very top tier.
I like how all three BCS matchups have the potential to be great games though. FSU won't get killed if they do show up like they did against Va Tech, and at least there's the old coach storyline. -

Corky, I'm just sick of seeing them up on top every week, year, etc. I know Texas is gonna get the same way, but right now, they're my only hope.
The whole FSU thing kind of irks me and kind of doesn't. I'm really glad that VT didn't win the ACC for the second year in the row, but then you look back on FSU's season. They lost to my home boys at NC STATE, who to be honest, suck (though I'm hoping I can get tickets for their bowl game against USF!). So thus, FSU is sucky. Or if not sucky then terrible inconsistent. At least Bobby Bowden is a nice guy. -

Gotcha. So it IS the whole #1 envy.
Ah well, can't argue against that. I'm just glad I'm getting the good college football luck, as opposed to, say, Iris. He was at UCF last year and they didn't win a game. Transfers to FSU, and UCF nearly wins Conference USA Title. Meanwhile, FSU has a subpar year. -

The BCS is a joke if FSU gets a spot and Virginia Tech and Oregon don't. Come on. FSU is unranked, how are you going to explain them as one of the 8 best teams in Division 1A?
BUT THEY GOT THE TWO UNDEFEATED TEAMS IN THE TITLE GAME, WHAT A GREAT SYSTEM. -

Well, if Va Tech can't show up in a CHAMPIONSHIP GAME, they don't deserve to be in.
They lost the game. They lost the chance overall.
OSU looked better in their two losses than Va Tech did. Oregon? Well, even though they're Pac 10, they played an even easier schedule than Notre Dame did, avoiding UCLA (which would have at the very least put up a good fight).
So I think the BCS actually got it right this year.
But it's not a perfect system by any stretch; they just got lucky this year. -

ROFLMAO
Miami got KILLED by LSU. Guess Kumba shouldn't ever go to Mississippi again. -

USF shutout for the first time in school history. Us Wolfpackers freaking owned Bank of America stadium though, it was just like being at home. -

Ok, 100 games, that sounds better.
Edit: Ok I wasted my 1,000th post on that.
Anyway, if you had a year that was turning out so terrible like NC State's, switching quarterbacks halfway through to someone nearly as a bad, you'd be happy--even excited, too. And then at the start of the game it looked like USF was gonna run all over State, and then we eventually rally back and shut them out... Seeing all that support down in Charlotte really boosts the team's morale for next year. I'm sorry we're not treated to the luxury of having a team that wins every freaking game with ease, you guys are really spoiled. Although, if NC State was like that winning would get old and wouldn't seem so special anymore. We're not called the Cardiac Pack for nothing, we have so many close calls (ie Georgia Tech). I know you were just joking, but you go to a bowl game (or any game) to have fun, not to be told that it didn't matter that much.Edited by gir, 01 January 2006 - 12:58 AM.

Louisville's bowl is tomorrow. If they beat Tech, then at least they can end the season on a high note. -

So much for that, altho I was rooting for Louisville to continue the "ACC sucks" trend.
Notre Dame getting owned right now.
