Basically, if you have a playlist, put your selected media player on shuffle and record in notepad which artists that are playing. This is just to get an idea of peoples current musical tastes, just not 1 at a time like What Are You Listening To Right Now? does. Here are my 50:
Blind Guardian, Iced Earth, Rhapsody, Demons & Wizards, Kamelot, Helloween, Slayer, Kreator, Hammerfall, Lacuna Coil, Deep Purple, Sonata Arctica, Manowar, Dark Tranquility, In Flames, Dimension Zero, Persuader, Dragonforce, Apocolyptica, Rammstein, Pink Floyd, Gamma Ray, Ayreon, Star One, Vintersorg, Mayhem, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Evergrey, Anthrax, Megadeth, Van Halen, Therion, Death, Children Of Bodom, Judas Priest, Cradle Of Filth, Dimmu Borgir, Amon Armath, Lost Horizon, Amorphis, Falconer, Finntroll, Within Temptation, Dio, Lost Horizon, Dream Theater, Savatage, Moonspell, The Who.
As you can see I'm very into Power/Battle Metal at the moment, but classic rock bands such as Deep Purple, Pink Floyd and The Who still crop up in places. -

^yeah, i try to mix it up sometimes (especially when the wife is in the car) I think listening to hardcore rap 24/7 isn't always healthy imo, depends on my mood tho
DJ Shadow:
EndTroducing.... (best ever!)
Press Release
Live! In Tune and In Time
...plus a bunch of unreleased tracks
MF Doom:
Vaudeville Villian (his best stuff, imo)
Venemous Villian
Special Herbs Vol. ? (don't know what complete volumes I have)
MM....Food?
Live from Planet X (i have various snippets from this album) -

I like this random idea...here's my first 20 shuffled:
Sufjan Stevens (Sister)
My favourite track on Seven Swans...the first track I heard by him, and I was hooked. "What the water wants is hurricanes and sailboats to ride on its back." - wonderful.
Belle & Sebastian (Your Cover's Blown)
Just discovering them, really...loved I'm A Cuckoo when I heard it, then listened more to Dear Catastrophe Waitress and Books EP. Haven't yet got hold of their older stuff, apart from this one weird track off Tigermilk (Electronic Renaissance) which was the first track I heard from them...strange.
Weezer (Slob)
Maladroit was the first album I heard by them, before I even heard Buddy Holly. I really liked Keep Fishin', and the album isn't that bad.
The Flaming Lips (Frogs)
Awesome. And guess what I got for my birthday? ZAIREEKA!
Embrace (One Big Family)
Never listened to this. I only have the albums for the singles - All You Good Good People is one of my favourite songs to sing a long to really loudly.
The Mars Volta (The Widow)
Been thinking I should give TMV another listen this past week...one of the, shall we say, more "polarising" bands on these boards?
Jay-Z (Threat)
Shizzle.
Pink Floyd (Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts VI-IX))
Lovely Floyd.
The Flaming Lips (The Observer)
Awesome x2.
The Black Keys (Set You Free)
OK this track KICKS ASS. I've got it on the School Of Rock soundtrack and love it. I think it's in my most played or something cos it's so good...
Blur (Caravan)
Probably my favourite track on Think Tank along with Out Of Time. Just LOVE those clicks and fuzzyness at the beginning, and the vocal just melts along. I think a lot of people got the wrong idea about Think Tank from the singles, but those that did check out the whole album should have been impressed.
M.I.A./Diplo (The Clipse - Definition Of A Roller)
Am just realising how fucking amazing LCD/MIA gigs must have been. Imagine Thrills mashed with Sunshowers...damn.
Green Day (Nice Guys Finish Last)
This isn't very representative, i'm afraid. I have International Superhits and American Idiot, I think.
Carla Bruni (Chanson Triste)
Carla Bruni is a great singer/songwriter in french with a cool guitar...just kinda nice to listen to. Also french is a great language for singing.
Jeff Buckley (Lover, You Should Have Come Over)
If you don't own Grace then go and get it.
Badly Drawn Boy (Bewilderbeast)
Badly Drawn Boy is weird...THOB was really great, HYFTF? was also pretty great, but About A Boy and OPOIO were just unoffensive IMO. Wow, acronyms R us.
Reel Big Fish (Everything Is Cool)
One of the few bands i've seen live. Not one of the songs I listen to that often...Somebody Hates Me is still the best.
Muse (Stockholm Syndrome)
Lovely if you're in the right mood. The only album I don't have is Origin Of Symmetry, and that's only because my sister has it...shame, cos Bliss is possibly one of my favourites by them, along with Sunburn and The Small Print. I don't like the way they alternate loud/quiet songs on albums...mainly cos the quiet songs all suck, excepting Unintended.
Prefuse 73 (Huevos With Jeff And Rony (feat. Mr. Lif On A Minidisc Mic))
Funky, I guess. Haven't given his albums too much attention, but they're intriguing nonetheless, kinda in the same way RJD2 or DJ Shadow are interesting but I wouldn't listen to them that often.
The Beatles (Get Back)
So I borrowed most of the Beatles catalogue from my friend who's a big fan and have been slowly getting acquainted with them...until recently I hardly knew any of their music. Well, I knew the songs, but didn't know they were The Beatles, mainly cos i'd heard covers etc. Anyway, I think Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt Pepper and Magical Mystery Tour are my favourites so far. I only have Let It Be...Naked, cos I d/led that one, so i'm going to have to borrow the original when I get back to uni.
Anyway, that's fun. Not totally representative of what I listen to on a daily basis, but not far off I guess. -

You can get Lozenge Of Love and I Am A Wicked Child on EPs too if you want - My Iron Lung EP/Com Lag.
My Iron Lung EP is great cos it has Trickster/Lewis etc on it. Com Lag has a few good on it (I like the Myxomatosis remix and Gagging Order a lot) but it has a few less interesting ones too.
Statistically, it's quite strange that no radiohead came up in my first 20 shuffled. -
Jellybones Offline
Both those EPs are only available on import here--kind of silly to pay $20 for an EP when you can get a Radiohead full-length for $14 or usually less. Worth the price if you're a completist, I guess.
Come to think of it. I've seen the My Iron Lung EP quite a few places, but I don't think I've ever seen the Com Lag EP anywhere.
