So, my sister bought the book just today. I've got it on my desk right now. Naturally, I skipped to the end, just so I can confirm to all those who are concerned about it, that Dumbledoore dies.
Is it by Snape, and is it because he's the half-blood prince?
Who gives a shit. Besides little children and retards, I mean. -

This thread is the perfect example of why I stayed away from any and all message boards or threads that might have spoilers lurking in the midst. But now that I'm finished, I suppose there aren't any spoilers left for me to discover.
Anyways, great book. Possibly my favorite so far. Lots of cool plot developments going on. I missed the last book's tense atmosphere, but I did enjoy the slightly rejuvinated joy (coupled with rejuvinated sadness) of this one. -

I heard Harry falls into a vat of boiling lava in this one and turns into Darth Vader in this one. -

I really didnt like this one, to be quite honest. It seems like parts of it where really rushed. Maybe its because I've been reading the series for like 6 years now, but this book didnt hold quite the same magic as the others(no pun intended). -

It's not my favorite. It's a little slow and heavy on the exposition for most of the length.
The end (last 3-4 chapters) is probably the best thing Rowling has ever written though.
Looking forward to Book 7. -

This is the stupidest shit ever. Everyone knows that the best book is Frog & Toad. -

While I have to agree that I feel it was a bit rushed I do not think it hurt the pace of the book, really.
Sure she left out some of the staples of the last books, Halloween, more Christmas, Valentines Day, etc. With all the romance in this book I really thought there would be some V-Day thing.
Still, the last 100 pages of the book was absolutly amazing, I've never read anything quite as powerful. -

Can you really call yourself an avid reader if the best thing you have ever read is a Harry Potter book?Still, the last 100 pages of the book was absolutly amazing, I've never read anything quite as powerful.

About time.hey guys i heard dumbledore dies in this one
edit also harry potter has sex with hermione
no anal though
I've never cared much to tell the truth. For one I haven't read books with any real intention of finishing since 6th grade. The last book I finished on my own without the school requiring the read was 2 years ago (Executive Orders by Tom Clancy). Which I found dragged a lot but when there was action it was intense.
I've read flipped through a read random passages from HP and I must say it's well written but fantasy books have failed to excite me since I finished the Narnia series back in 5th grade. And I read them in the order of the storyline, not the order written. Believe it or not The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe IS NOT the first book. The Magician's Nephew (aka book #6) is... Crazy eh?
Anyway just ignor this since it has nothing to do with HP.

Really? I think the HP series is much more fascinating and readable than the Narnia series. You should give them a go sometimes; they're rather good (perhaps that's why about 7 million copies were sold in the first 24 hours...) -

Tom Clancy is a disgrace to literature.

Get a fucking life, champ.
Unless you enjoy reading mass-produced grocery store paperbacks, all with the same damn plot. Then, enjoy yourself.
(p.s. your post was a contradictory and nonsensical piece of shit, try again.) -

Harry Potter sucks. I read the first 50 pages of the first book and then put it down for good.

Once you've finished with the new Harry Potter, you should wander over to the science fiction section and pick up a copy of:
and
And, well, pretty much anything by PKD, but those two are espcecially good. You can whip through one of those in a couple days. -

So moony who do you read then?
And I've always beleived it. You finally gave me enough proof.. -

Try Stephen Ambrose. A real historian who writes about real history and real stories. Not a dickhead like Clancy who pretends he has some idea of what he's talking about.
Of course. True stories will always be more interesting than fiction. Especially formulaic, shitty fiction, like Tom Clancy.
