Guess who's back? Sorry everyone...after lots of computer problems I've finally returned. I bring with me the latest results of the past two Pro Tour Preliminary rounds that we are passed. The deadline remains the same for the mine train round...June 27. Anyways...congratulations to penguinBOB on earning his spot into the second Pro Tour. Bob came out of nowhere as a complete dark horse in this race, as most people wrote everyone not named Metropole or Splash O off. Still, Bob came in and surprised me with a great effort, and I can only hope he brings something to the finals, cause I think he has the talent to really make a dent in the big contest. A great Egyptian themed inverted coaster using the Vekoma track (and I'm a sucker for Vekoma track). Good luck in the finals Bob!

A big thanks to the other five entries of the round. This one was probably the best quality round from top to bottom. I went back and forth on the top three several times, yet 4 and 5 were both extremely impressive and surprising as well. I recieved Metro's entry first and expected him to keep it, but Bob surprised me. Metro instead ended in second with another dazzling invert to add to his collection...an entry that might have won this contest a few months ago, but now I feel it's time for Metropole to start exploring a bit more as I find a lot of his stuff is starting to look the same, something he definitely doesn't want. Splash O came in third with a nice entry featuring great theming, and a pretty nice coaster. Still lots of awkward areas of the ride dragged it down a bit and the architecture outweighed the layout. Next came a very surprising entry from x-boy, someone I had never heard of but really showed what he can do in a early-Slobish type entry. Wicksteed gave us a fascinating spooky invert for 5th place and in an act of redundancy trav came last. I suggest to trav that instead of trying to enter every contest, put more time and energy into your entry and save it for one or two bnig ones. Still, a great job to everyone who participated....and check the next post for the results to the suspended.

Also...congratulations to Jacko Shanty who I didn't even know was entering for taking the Suspended Coaster round with a very unorthodox, yet somehow very appealing entry. I was very surprised to see this sitting in my mailbox...and it ended up being the best entry of what I expected to be one of the strongest rounds. Due to a bizarre turn of events, it ended up being slightly weaker then the other rounds, but that doesn't take away from Jacko's accomplishment. Congrats and welcome to the tour Jacko...and I know how much you hate deadlines so this was pretty big. I really hope you finish something for the finals cause a missing entry from you would really be a shame. And no suck cities this time around either

Thanks to the others who submitted entries. Steve, who might have been the favorite to win in most circumstances decided to go 'rwadams style' and try his hand at his weaker game, bringing us a very nice LL entry. I'm sure Posix will have my head for not picking this entry to win it all, but I found the entry a little TOO quaint and subtle, with not quite enough originality or substance. Still, a good entry but a little bit underwhelming. Coming third was jon, who brought us a very underthemed, yet nicely landscaped and intriguing suspended coaster that took great advantage of the large rock formations throughout the map. Unknown newguy ekimmel came next, with an entry much better then I thought. Still lots of mistakes, but for a first effort very impressive, and pretty fun to look at. Shameless came fifth with an incomplete suspended coaster...that he didn't even name, giving a great impression to me as a judge. Trav technically didn't come last this round, but might as well have, with a decent, but way to bare and incomplete suspended coaster that he submitted way before the round even began. Next time spend that time finishing and touching up trav, maybe you'll get it. Just20706's entry was disqualified cause for some reason, he used Time Twisters...something I've never had, nor does anyone else I really know. Unfortunate, but thanks for the effort anyway Just. Finally...I recieved an e-mail from Metropole that had everything except the attachment, and I waited as long as possible before I posted the results. I guess that entry will end up as either a Design submission or for the bonus round. Sorry Metro.

Bah, I'll get in sooner or later.
My invert wasn't very good. I know that.
And i'm not very good at LL, and I meant for there to be open spaces in it.
Well done to Rick for coming 4th!
And well done to Jacko and P-BOB. -

Awesome entry PBob. I loved it. When slob first showed screens of his vekoma invert it made me want to build one and now after seeing this i now know i HAVE to include one of those babys in my park. The themeing was just right, very egyptian and pulled off great. The architecture was strong too in places it could have been better but i really liked it overrall. One thing i loved the most was the supports, great idea bob they really did add to the theme and they looked great. I must admit i do prefer realistic supports but these were awesome.
Good job everyone else who entered the invert round. I will get more feedback later.
Edit: My Suspended comments coming soon. Damn link doesnt work for Jacko's i get linked to the microsoft homepage. -

Ozymandis
Nice entry, the coaster design sprawled everywhere and i thought went together well with the gentle car-ride running underneath its mesh-like layout. The supports were nice, but a little too repetative for my tastes. As i said before, fantastic layout, however quite bare on an overall scale. Congrats on the win, good luck in the PT2.
Inspiration
Excellant design and layout, the theme was nice too. Colours were okay, but a little repetative. I really liked this design though, i love the way you built one of the buildings into the side of a mountain. Overall a solid entry, imo, would have got the nod ahead of Ozymandis, just...
Fort Of Fear
When i first opened this, i was like 'wow'.... "this didnt win"?... But then i looked at it more in depth. The architecture was definitly the best out of this round, or perhaps in PT so far... But the design was quite weak. I think Splash wanted to try for a 'hypercoaster' like thing with the invert. Which in my opinion did not work, add more inversions and stuff like that and it would have been a winner.

BloodWood
I love parks without custom scenery, this was no exception. Fantastic ride layout, great atmosphere. I really enjoyed this Jacko. Well done, good luck in the PT2.
Galahad
Very peaceful and quaint. Nice too look at, but got a bit boring after seeing it in detail. Well done on attempting LL though, its better than any of my attempts.
Terra X
Very nicely landscaped, the rock formations i liked. But there was not anything apart from the coaster that really caught my eye, nice entry though.

The only custom scenery in Bloodwork was clear path... i thought everyone had that.Getting the same problem.
But ya, Jacko's didn't load.
Bloodwork was alright, props for not using custom scenery (other than that path one....). Was kinda slow at parts... lacked realism around the station (a transfer area would've been nice).
Steve's had a better layout and feel to it though imo... but should've completed the area up a bit more, that prolly would've gotten him the top spot. Oh, and it broke down like 30 secs into opening the sv4 (steve's), that was sad.
Metro's was very nice just about all around. The only things I didn't care for were: Bare mountain... you... aren't... natelox. ^_^ the really lame ending; perfectly good part of a ride (track through loop) messed up thanks to useless brakes, followed by more brakes, and the only other thing that was meh was the length of the queue. The station was cool though will all that custom scenery shinazz. Layout was fun to watch (other that the ending...). Maybe you should've powered launch it 7mph or so out of the station though, dragged hXc there (especially for an rct invert).

The invert round had some nice entries, i would have definitely picked a different winner.
Coaster wise, purely coaster wise, xboy had it, imo. Then theming wise, Splash O's Fort of Fear had it. (strikingly similar looking to one of my old projects.... that i never released =P) My guess would actually have been on of these two, though metro comes along with a more balanced entry, perhaps. Splash, to me, didn't have such a bad coaster design although an inversion around beginning besides the vertical loop would have suited it VERY well. The way it went to the side though over that waterfall was lovely, though. Probably my favorite entry. Xboys really missed some theming, the colors just didn't work well enough. Besides that, i liked metro's area but something was missing there too. I thought Pbob's entry was hideous though. Didn't like that at all.... Ugly supports that were all over the place, the whole thing looked so messy it wasn't even funny. Had no idea where the coaster was, it looked like one of those spaghetti bowl loopers. The station was original, and well done, though seemed to carry the messyness with it. Oh well, Congrats.
The other one, imo, had two deserving entries. I just happened to like Steve's a lot more, but ok... Jacko's reminded me of butterfinger architecture, and the suspended looked strikingly similar to the one in sierra glen. Not that it really matters, but it just sort of struck me as cheap. Loved Steve's entry though, *hugs Steve*. -

Surprising. I would have thought Metro to have taken the invert round, since I looked at his first. Great layout and theming. The architecture seemed boring, and similar to your other projects as iris pointed out. But then I opened PenguinBob's and thought that the station was absolutely AWESOME. But that's it, really. Layout seemed poor, awful supports (though I can't blame you for trying to be creative), etc. Basically I agree with WME (hugs, babe). and um, yeah, about the suspendeds. jacko's didn't intrest me. at all. i can appreciate the thought behind it i guess, but it was boring (just like mine! yaya). cool waterfalls, though. i liked jon's for about 2 minutes - could have been brilliant if pulled off a little better. Still, not bad. the screen in your signature looks nice though. and about my entry.. uhm, yeah, it's nothing special. i actually hold it higher to my rct2 work. plus, i had fun building it. i hardly EVER have fun when i build in rct2 for some reason, so it was nice. i really liked my layout too - even if the surroundings aren't as equally nice. But hey, congratulations Jacko - and good luck in the tournament.

Inverted Results
The top 3 inverted results were all incredible designs imo with great theme ideas, but Pbob's stuck out as having the best execution of the three. Metro's was especially pleasant, but I found the invert very slow at points that took some excitement away. Splash-o's was surpizingly impressive. x-boy's was pretty cool, except for the coaster design. That first loop and cobra roll were way too slow. Some nice theming there tho. Wicksteed's was cool, but felt really empty. trav, well, keep at it dude.
Suspended Results
Jacko's entry was really interesting. Not something I would ever expect from you jacko, but I liked it. The coaster was quite unorthodox, but did the job. The architecture there was superb. Steve's was nice, altho the coaster kept breaking down on me and the ride itself seemed drawn out, like too long. Jon's represented a pretty cool, yet unique concept of a purely natural setting. I thought you did good with the resources you had. ekimmel's was okay; didn't like the coaster much, but some of the buildings were neat. shameless's seemed rushed, yet colorful. trav, stick to my comment above.
Some great designs here. I especially liked the inverts. Great job guys. -

Hey. I came in 4th. Better than I thought I would do. I'd love to hear more comments about it and my numerous n00b mistakes so I can get them fixed for my next entry. -

I'm not sure why you guys are having problems loading mine because I didn't use any custom scenery. Unless, of course, something got slipped in there by accident.
