Yeah, Fatha', I did! The Rockets beat the Kings 103-96. I bow down to you.Hey Radu!
See my rockets maul your kings? Ming Dynasty baby!
Ooh, but hey! Did you happen to catch 10 days ago when the Kings humiliated the Rockets 103-84? So now we're perfectly even. But wait, the Kings still have a better record, just finished a 6-game winning streak without many of our most key players, and still only managed to loose the last game by 9 points. I wouldn't call it a "maul"ing. -

Ya, Sorry about that. I didn't mean my for the post to come out as offensive-sounding as it did. Just making a point that the Kings have delt with huge-guys before, and will deal with them again. -

A simple observation:
This season, the Warriors beat the Spurs. Last night, the Spurs beat the Mavericks. The Lakers have also beaten the Mavericks in one embarrassing fashion. The Warriors have also beaten the Lakers.
Conclusion: The Golden State Warriors are the best team in the NBA
... and Dallas is the worst. -
Fatha' Offline
Cork, u fail to remember that Dallas had the Lakers down by 30 points in the Staples Center.
Conclusion.
Lakers suck. -

Yes, and they STILL came back and beat the Mavs, which means if the Lakers suck, the Mavs must either suck harder. Or swallow.Cork, u fail to remember that Dallas had the Lakers down by 30 points in the Staples Center.
Conclusion.
Lakers suck.
And after last night, I think I've reached another conclusion. This year's Lakers are the Portland Trailblazers. As ESPN sez, "This is a team that can come out and beat Dallas and the next night lose to the Cavaliers." ...and the Lakers have done that. -

OK, here's my honest opinion about the Lakers/Mavericks game.
1)The Lakers played very well.
2)The Mavs played very bad.
I don't think it was anything to do with "The Lakers turning it around", or playing "out of this world". Stuff like this happens (it shouldn't), and usually not this bad, but when you have Kobe & Shaq on a team, with the style of offense Dallas has, you could see it coming.
Now, let's look at how each team has responded after that.
The Lakers lost to the Cavs. Now, stop razzing on the Cavs because they're really not an awful team. They are a much different team with Dajauan Wagner then without, so saying you lost to the Cavs really isn't the end of the world in my opinion. Wagner & Ricky Davis are two hugh scoring threats, Miles has maybe the most athleticism in the NBA, and Zydranaus Ilgauskas has been the best center in the East. Now, the Lakers then got slaughtered by the T-Wolves last night. I think the Lakers need to do something to rejuvenate their team. Pick up a free agent, make a trade for a "spark off the bench" kind of player that will wake everybody up. I think a player like Al Harrington could be the best thing for the Lakers.
The Mavericks killed the Pacers last night, avenging their first loss of the season. Everyone said that if you play tough with the Mavs, slow it down, and dump it inside, you can beat them. Well the Pacers did all of the above and still got blown out. Steve Nash didn't even play in the entire fourth. They also lost to the Spurs, but that was without Dirk, so I'm not really upset about that. Duncan vs. no good big guy equals trouble. But the Mavericks proved a lot to me last night. Jermaine O' Neal tried to get in people's head, Ron Artest tried, Jamaal Tinsely tried, and to some extent, Isiah Thomas tried to bring back the "bad boys" style of play, but the Mavs kept strong and handed them a whooping.
Oh yeah, breaking news:
Nuggets suck. -

One more thing.
The MAvericks completely stopped playing in the 4th quarter. They tried to run the clock out with about 9 mins left (Which is when the run started), and that was a bad mistake. Had Dallas kept playing their style throughout the quarter, their record would be 22-2. -

Has anyone seen LeBron James? The kid is crazy and only in high school. How do you think he'll play next year in the NBA? He probably won't score more than 14ppg (no player coming straight out of high school has ever averaged more than 10ppg in a season) but he will mature into a tough competitor and high scorer.
Most likely. -

I think Lebron may be a bit better then Kobe eventually. I wanna see Lebron and T-Mac play, that would be an insane matchup. The best NBA player versus the best High School Player (ever). -

Maybe not the best high school player ever... Reggie Miller dropped 100 points in a game once, and so did his sisterI think Lebron may be a bit better then Kobe eventually. That would truely be a great match-up though.
If he goes to the Cavs they are going to be a killer team in a few years. If he goes to Memphis, well... let's just hope he refuses to sign -

Please dont judge Memphis by their record. They are a very good team actually (Ive seen them play the rockets, they are no joke). They have "white chocolate" aka Jason Williams (One of the top PGs in the league), Drew Gooden is a up and coming rookie, Pau Gasol is sick, Wesley Person is arguably one of the greatest shooters of all time (and he would probably be on the bench if LeBron goes to Memphis). They also have some good players like Brevin Knight and Lorenzen Wright. I dont understand why Memphis has that record, they really could be a playoff team.
If Lebron went ot Memphis, this lineup would be nasty.
PG - Jason Williams
SG - LeBron James
SF - Pau Gasol (He and Drew Gooden can be interchangeable).
PF - Drew Gooden
C - Shane Battier?Edited by Fatha', 18 December 2002 - 07:31 PM.

Oh shizzle I never noticed that. I've seen Memphis play (on tv) a few times and they make a lot of mistakes. Maybe it's their youth and inexperience for the most part. They might need a veteran to provide something off the bench. That lineup would be awesome though.
Brevin Knight will be a monster one day. A 5'10" monster, trust me.
Actually probably not but I like him anyway.
I doubt Battier could play center but he could try.
Honestly I've never seen Gasol play but I heard he is graceful and talented. -

Whoa we got a basketball team in Memphis?
Haha...nah but Memphis really could be a good team like Fatha said. I remember thinkin we were gonna be good when we got Williams and Battier. Id really like to see LeBron come to Memphis next year too...maybe then we could win some games or somethin. Anything to get a winning record...and dont hate on the Cavs, Wagner owns! -

Outlaw if you got LeBron, Memphis could be a championship team within a few years (Maybe 4). -

well, with the three way trade (sixers, rockets, nuggets) it looks like Denver is in the front running for James. The Lakers would have to seriously tank in order to get him, or fix the lottory . Right now we are looking at the Kings takeing the Pacific West, Mavs takeing the Mid (unless they tank too) and the East consisting of who ever wants it that week. When all is said and done though, the Kings will be holding the Trophy.
PEACE
