Whoa... I think I just got an ego check.

Of late, posix has been rather interested in video editing and capturing. He's been on a bit of quest to discover a way to capture RCT gameplay video perfectly, without any dropped frames.

Well, all that hard work has paid off with an incredible RCT commercial--arguably the best I've ever seen. So good, in fact, that I think it warrants a front page post.

So without further ado, I present to you posix's first RCT commercial. And the park in question might be a pleasant surprise too... ;) Fantastic job, posix!

NOTE: The file is 14 megs. Thanks fo JBruckner for hosting!

It was short, but very good.
Posix has a bright video editing future ahead of him :)

As for the park, it's just incredible. Artist has made quite a big improvment from POM, as iris mentioned. You guys are all going to be pleasantly surprised when this thing gets released.

    :) Great job posix.

same here man. Music sound quite fitting to an RCT park however.

Read the Playback information, and go to the website it gves you. Then you can play it fine.

This was great. A little short, but really fun. The park isn't half bad, either ;)

    lol. right, tracid.

posix, it was awesome. I thought you would have done a LL park atleast. :(

Maybe he couldn't figure out the movements with it or something. I think I remember a post where he was asking about something like that--how to follow a train or something. Anyway, it looked pretty sweet, though short. RCT commercials are kind of tricky though, since you don't want to give the whole park away anyway.

Wonderful video, Posix. I'll have to get you to make me one when my park is all finnished... if that ever happens... still, I think I like "POM" better... :(

I can see it now in the Pro Tour 3 prelims

CREATE THE BEST RCT VIDEO COMMERCIAL THING
(winner to be announced at the launch of NE3)

nah but seriously. mad props to Posixvision 3000.

For those of you who can't see it, try this:

And posix, it was very nice, although short. I liked it though...you're much more interested in this stuff than I had thought.
  • Corkscrewed%s's Photo
I think it's better short. It was like an actual commercial, and it gave good glimpses without exposing too much or feeling too cheap.

Seriously, posix... you must teach me your mastery. :D

I love you for this pos, what a great guy.[/font]

    Whehe.

Very impressive. I just loved the way you did the logo at the beginning, and the text along side of the park, everything was just classy. And leaving out the best two things in the park! Class. :D

Great video. Seemed very classy and sophisticated IMO with the reviews from various people alonmg the top. It made it seem real. Also, the park looks quite incredible. 10x better than PoM. Keep on delighting us with the videos Posix.

happy to hear everyone liked it it so far. :)
as for those who have sound only, why do you think i added a playback information txt?

and gigaforce, divx is different from xvid. xvid can read divx, not vice versa. and, for this purpose, xvid was most appropriate. divx is mainly for dvdripping these days.

    gir, well noticed ;)
i figured it out in a much better way now. took me a while though. yeah.

chauncey, i'd be most honoured to do you an mv. anytime, really.

and corkscrewed's right about the shortness. rctmvs are tricky. if you show too much the later park release is screwed. and in videos, you can show a lot. so you must be careful. make a stunning 256x256 and we can have it longer :)
or, i'm also thinking that a video could present more than one park. well, we'll have to see.

Awesome, posix, really awesome. Especially the 'following the train'. Love the quotes, too, although they were slightly difficult to read and disappeared too quickly (something to think about for next time?)

As for the park, it looks fantastic.

    Great job you two :p

As for the park, I know it's totally awesome :p

I know XviD and DivX are different, but i didnt download the XviD codec you used...I just used my DivX player.

Thats not to say I didn't already have the codec from like...2 years ago, but I don't think I did...

I like this movie, but my question is which program did you use to capture this, cos I'm really would like to know.
