The wooden buildings aren't exactly my favorite, but I get the feel you're trying to create there.
Now all you have to do is make the ride not suck, and BANG, spotlight. -

Well I realize that there are downsides to every building technique, and of course if you built a park in the scenario editor you'd have to exercise some self restraint to keep from changing your whole scenery bench to random objects that you can't remember how to use. Also, I realize that parkdat makes everything easier, but parkdat clearly didn't exist when this park was started, so I'm approaching this from the perspective of somebody who started a park years ago. Both a limited scenery selection and a theoretically unlimited one can have their advantages, but the perspective of the builder is what will make either approach work. You know I used to have the same mentality, but I soon realized that doing that really hinders building skill. Not to mention the unique look you can get from using trackitecture throughout your park, you also lose the ability to do rides with so many hacks and theme them adequately. Sometimes it's best to just stick with a bench and move forward. Not to mention this is all a moot point now that parkdat exists.

DisneySea is officially done, and has been sent to Tyandor for de-WWization. It wouldn't have taken as long to finish had I not decided to theme a few rides at the last minute. Indiana Jones Adventure, Sinbad's Seven Voyages, and Manhattan Motor Madness are fully themed indoors. Only a section of the IJA is not completely themed because that section is located underneath the giant temple and I did not want to demolish the structure to theme that area. The only other ride that could have been themed was Maelstrom, which I decided not to because I felt I couldn't convey the story I wanted to tell with the objects I had available. Also, I placed about 10 Hidden Mickeys throughout the park. I tried to place at least two in every port, but most only ended up with one (I think Lost River Delta didn't get one at all). Vague hints for finding the Mickeys will be included in the DisneySea Guide released with the park. Tyandor said he has a few things to do before he can de-WW the park, so don't expect a release until probably the middle of next month.Edited by Iceman, 29 May 2008 - 11:33 AM.

You can expect it within a week or two. Still have to wrap up my projects at uni and I am loaded with work atm.
btw, before anyone else volunteers, I rather do it because I already converted a motherload of WW object and it would be foolish to send more double objects in to this world if you ask me. -

Am I really the only one who thinks this is messy, undetailed on a lot of places, and is using the wrong objects?

No, I think it too.
It`s right, on some (or more) places, details are missing and I really hate those big and ugly objects,
but I mean no harm. -

I'm with you. Like 60% of the objects are ugly. But I guess it's just not my style...Am I really the only one who thinks this is messy, undetailed on a lot of places, and is using the wrong objects?

If you notice they are 'newer' members so aren't used to seeing this style and appreciating it. -

Guys, this isn't really about the details or making something as realistic as possible. For this, it's about pulling off the amazing Disney atmosphere we all know so well, and he does this with finesse and ease. That's why everyone loves it. -

It doesn't have the Disney-atmosphere, in my opinion. Maybe if he adds peeps.Edited by Sulakke, 28 June 2008 - 10:30 AM.

actually, it is about making everything look as realistic as possible. that's the method of achieving the disney atmosphere in the first place. however, it isn't about making everything look pretty. and i can understand that concern of some.
