I actually saw it last night. 'ripped cd'
I thought it was the best of the prequals. the one part that stuck to me. were the similarities of our democracy and how in the movie the senate was sacreficing some freedoms to be more secure. hmmm..
I love the quote "And so Liberty dies - with thunderous applause"
SPOLIERS SPOILERS
Another thing, was where Anakin makes that one bad move (the jump). That lands him fucked up right there. You kinda feel sorry for the guy, then you gotta remember Anakins gone to the dark side. -

I saw it earlier tonight... I didn't like it at all. I just wasn't entertained and I was constantly checking my phone to see how much longer I had to sit in the theatre.
Then again, I don't like any of the other Star Wars movies, so I wasn't expecting to like this one either. Maybe 7, 8, and 9 will be better. -

My thoughts (in brief).
Watching Episodes I, II, and III has actually dimmed some of the magic of the original series for me. I get very little out of the new movies other than the occasional 'oh that's cool' moment. And those little moments are not worth losing the special significance of the original trilogy. If I could go back, I think I'd be better off never having seen any of these prequels.
Basically, A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi are movies. Return of the Jedi is a sequel, so it's a lesser movie, but the first two are right up there I think with the best cinema has to offer. The prequels, on the other hand, are video games. They look like video games, they're plotted like video games, and the characters are as shallow as video game characters. They're so busy 'moving things along' that they never stop and allow us to experience one moment, one second that feels genuine. I love cinema. The prequels represent a stunning technological accomplishment. I'm really impressed by what George has been able to turn special effects into. But no matter how much they want to be, they are not cinema. And that's a shame. -

Okay, so I just got back from seeing this. Now, I'm not an avid Star Wars fan, so I wasn't too excited, but it's one of those movies that you have to see unless you enjoy being shunned by society. So I waited in line to get into the theater (naturally, it sold out, but I ordered my tickets being the smart guy that I am), and it was packed. But the movie was amazing. I went in with my hopes being somewhat low, seeing how the first two prequels sucked ass, but my expectations were surpassed - it really was fantastic. I had few problems, the main one being how Anakin survived after being fucking set on fire (I guess his powers kept him alive?). I don't know. Maybe my knowledge of the series isn't up to par. Whatever, I enjoyed it, but I probably won't see it again. My ass started to hurt after the first hour and a half. -

Hey, I agree with you about the movies, but dont bash video games. The prequels, on the other hand, are video games. Its basically a carbon copy of the Weimar Republic era and Hitlers rise to power to Fuhrer. Lots of mirrors between the two.
=]
I liked it, better than I and II by far.. but the chemistry beween Ani and Padme was shit.

It was exactly what I expected:
The fight scenes were naturally incredible and the action was great, but like Ed mentioned, that's all the movie was really. You can blame Hayden Christiansen, Natalie Portman (who gets a free pass for being so HOT), the rest of the bad actors and of course the casting directors, but when Samuel L. Jackson, Christopher Lee, Ewan McGregor and even CG CHARACTERS look bad, you know it's got to do with the script. Part of me enjoyed it, especially the end where the inevitable transfer to the fourth movie was of course exciting, although even that was held back by Hayden's terrible emotional range. -

I just got back from seeing it, and I must say I am impressed. The special effects were definetly awesome and I really like how Lucas brought it all together. I definetly recommend this to anyone who is a star wars fan that has seen the original 3, 1, and 2. This movie will explain a lot of things.
SPOILERS!
Some things that really entertained me:
1. The part where Darth Vader came to life. Although, I don't really like the updated costume. I dunno, maybe its just me but I like the original one better.
2. The fight scenes(Who doesn't like those?).
3. The little comedy parts like Dark Sideus's(Sp?) guards trying to stop Yoda and Yoda just throws them against a wall. Also, the droids here and there saying "Run away!" during the 1st attack on Grevious.
4. R2D2 kicking ass!
5. I loved seeing the early versions of the Tie-Fighters, Storm Troopers, and various other ships. Those really reminded me of the original Star Wars. The hall they recreated, from that ship that Vader takes over in the begining of A New Hope, was really well done.
Overall it was a really good movie. I give it a 10/10. -

I'm just curious as to why everyone thinks the original three movies are the holy grail? They really were not much different than the new three, in my opinion. -

If you don't understand why, than you'll probably never understand why. That's really all I can say about it. It's a feeling. You're not going to learn it. You have to feel it. -

Oh man, that was funny Ed.
Just think I am sour because I am sick of reading about everyone bashing the new movies. I think I need to re-watch all six again. -

Can it be I've influenced you in some way?! =O -

Since when were Battle Droids programmed with Sarcasm? That was such a comedic trick... lol -

I think the three prequels definately enhanced the original trilogy. They were cheezy at some points, but in context with the era, so were the first ones. The first ones didn't exactly have any great acting either. If you start thinking about a bad element of the prequels, I guarantee you will find it in the originals.
It changed my perspective on the first trilogy. No longer (to me at least) is this the story of Luke Skywalker, but rather, it is the story of Anakin Skywalker. .. and Darth Vader. -

So let me get this straight.....
Obi Wan gets his ass thrown by Dooku, Anakin kills him in like 5 mins.
Mace Windu nearly (should have) killed Sideous, but Yoda can't.
Obi Wan kills Anakin (mind u who killed the second most powerful Sith with relative ease), but can't kill Dooku.
I thought the power order was.....
Yoda, Skywalker, Obi Wan, Mace Windu. -

I think sideous does that on purpose so anakin kills windu, some sort of push over to the darkside.Mace Windu nearly (should have) killed Sideous, but Yoda can't.

Hahahaha. I'm thankful that he isn't making 7 8 and 9 because it was the story of Anakin Skywalker, from founding, to his death. What more is there to say? Anyway, still haven't seen revenge of the sith, but probably going on tuesday.Maybe 7, 8, and 9 will be better.
