My 4D is in :X :huey:

man. how do you guys make 4Ds? I tried to make one, but there were too many variables to consider and it made my skull implode.
  • GigaForce%s's Photo
4Ds confuse the crap out of me in RCT2

Thast why i stick to the hacked ones in LL.
  • cg?%s's Photo
Yeah, I agree with Jellybones. I'm guessing you probably just build it normally, and then edit the degrees later using trial and error to get them where you want? That's the easiest way I can think of, and even that is far too much work, for far too little gain.

Yeah, that's why I've only made one decent 4d in my Rct career. And that was because I was trying to win a trip to Cedar Point. I got a board game.

I do have at least one more 4d planned though. Anyways, I didn't enter this round because I'm too busy. At this point I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever get an entry done. Certainly I can get something done though.

EDIT: Oh yeah, how I got my first and only 4d done was I had a sheet of paper with the orientation of the seats and the accompanying angle, and I would turn the sheet to match the pitch of the track. Then I'd chose the best angle for what I wanted.

Also, does "B&M multi element" include Vertical Coasters and Flying Coasters, as well as Floorless/Hyper/Standup/Sitdown?

    any answer to this???

    any answer to this???

To me a B&M multielement would mean any ride in the style of B&M which flips you upside-down more than once... but I have no authority... so...

Generally though, every question about "Would this count?", or "Could I do this?", has been answered with a "Yes".
  • Metropole%s's Photo
I think it means a b&m twister which includes Stand-up, Floorless and Sit Down. Could be wrong tho

    Rounds I'll be participating in:
    ...Best Suspended Coaster (June 20)
    ...Best Wooden Coaster (July 4)
    ...Best Bridge (July 18)
...Create Any of the Above - Bonus Round (August 15) [with a 4D coaster]

    In case anyone was wondering.

To make like Hobbes, here are the ones I plan on entering:

    Hotel
    Inverted
    B&M Multielement
    Bridge

Of course, Hotel has already passesd, and the Inverted deadline is looming, so, most likely, I'll be picking 1 of those 2 for the bonus round, based upon which is best. The others I plan to get in on time, though.
  • iGNiTED%s's Photo
im gonna try to enter as many as i can...
but im entering the inverted for sure...
    maybe
  • yeshli2nuts%s's Photo
well i have my next workbench created with an original (or at least i hope it is) idea planned for it. its going to be built for the B&M multi-element round and hopefully i will be able to use the flying coaster (i have the floorless in the workbench just incase). if i dont get any official word, i will assume the flyer is ok for the multi-element coaster.
  • Levis%s's Photo
I'm working on my workbench for the Mine Train now :) .

this time i'm going to try better :p .
  • jon%s's Photo
I'll probably be entering; should any one care:

    Best Suspended Coaster
    Best Wooden Coaster
    B&M Multi-Element
    Best Duelers

I also have a potential water coaster entry that I never got round to finishing. That'll probably be entered into the 'create any of the above' round.

Hint: announcing your exact plans for the priliminary rounds only raises expectations and increases your chances of disappointing everyone with a lackluster entry or no entry at all. That, and you completely eliminate the element of surprise.

Suggestion: Shut up and build. If you finish something cool on time, send it in.
