Ok, let me rephrase rrp's question.
How bout posting the workbench, so that everyone who wants to start, has an idea, thinks he may need a lot of time to finish, blabla, has the ability to do so? -
iris Offline
That would still be an unlevel playing field for those who qualify later in the preliminaries. -

What about staggering the deadlines then iris.
If someone gets the bench earlier, they must meet an earlier deadline.
At the moment, the benches will be given out on the 15th August right. The deadline for the first qaulifier could be the 15th and so the other qualifiers deadlines would work like this:
______ - Create The Best Hotel (Due August 15th)
______ - Create The Best Liquid Coaster (August 22nd)
______ - Create The Best Fourth Dimension Coaster (August 29th)
______ - Create The Best Inverted Coaster (September 5th)
______ - Create The Best Suspended Coaster (September 12th)
______ - Create The Best Mine Train (September 19th)
______ - Create The Best Wooden Coaster (September 26th)
______ - Create The Best B&M Multi-Element (October 3rd)
______ - Create The Best Bridge (October 10th)
______ - Create The Best Adventure Ride (October 17th)
______ - Create The Best Dueling Coasters (October 24th)
______ - Create The Funniest Ride/Park (October 31st)
______ - Create Any of the Above - Bonus Round (November 7th)
Bonus Spots and Parkmakers: November 7th
That way, people have longer to work on their parks, and the time we have to wait for the overall results is shorter. -

Basically, if the bench does go out to people earlier than the 15th August, that person must return their completed entry to Iris earlier. So, if they got two weeks before the 15th for example, they'd have to give it to iris, two weeks before the final deadline. Does that explain it better. -

How about we set a deadline, and if any of the qualifiers actually have something almost finished we can wait on them then. -

I don't understand why there's confusion. Everyone gets the bench at the same time, everyone starts at the same time, everyone has a deadline at the same time. Just like any other contest. Where is this confusion coming from? -

Well, if we waited on people with no deadline it would most likely take longer....but would give better probabilities of more people finishing, resulting in a greater contest.
But i think we should just stick to deadlines and such. I beleive you get about 3 months? That should be more than enough time to finish an 85x85 map... -

If you can't fill it in tree moths than you have a serious problem .
btw iris dit you recieved my entry ? -

No. It's not.I beleive you get about 3 months? That should be more than enough time to finish an 85x85 map...
Not when you don't have the convenient opportunity of getting on every single day... because, like, you just happen to have more productive things to do. Then when you do get on for a spare hour or two you sit there half the time planning and rebuilding what you are unsatisfied with.
Those darned WEBBED FEET don't help either. -

Oh, never mind...no matter how many times I decide not to enter this it always lures me back in. -

i've worked now 15 hours on my 4d coaster entry and on 80% i hope i can finish it before the deadline -

Can you submit Suspendeds/Inverteds/Minetrains/Woodies/etc for the bonus round due on Aug 15th as well as all other types of coasters?
Also, does "B&M multi element" include Vertical Coasters and Flying Coasters, as well as Floorless/Hyper/Standup/Sitdown? -

"Create Any of the Above - Bonus Round (August 15)"
You can only make the objectives that have been given. So it can't be any coaster.

But I do say that everyone should get the park at the same time and turn it in at the same time. Maybe lengthen the total time, if anything, but the staggering stuff and early receivals just needlessly complicate what would otherwise be a simple structure.
So basically, make the actual Pro Tour contest longer if anything, but nothing else. And I would say that three months is plenty of time, but that's just my personal opinion. And obviously, not everyone would agree, which is perfectly okay.
On the other hand, if most people think three months is more than enough time, then we might as well keep it. -
Butterfinger Offline
Didn't we get 3 months last time, and only a couple people got their entries in before the extention?
Might be wrong.
