OK, so i've been gone for a bit, quite a bit.
I want to get back into RCT and I have a few questions
1) Why isn't RCT3 used very much? Not good?
2) RCT2 parks: do people use the expansions? I hope not
3) Have any trainers been developed to allow all rides/scenery yet? They weren't when I left, but who knows. Maybe they have while I was gone.
Thanks. Maybe you'll see something of mine soon. -

Hi!
1) It is used a lot, just not much around here. Check out the forums at rollercoastertycoon.com for lots of cool RCT3 stuff. There's a lot of not so cool stuff too. Why don't people use it much around here? I guess the biggest reason is the limited selection of scenery and poor performance of the game on most people's computers. I still hate making buildings out of wall pieces myself. Too tedious. But I'll probably give it another try when the expansion comes out.
2) Most people here don't.
3) If you mean RCT2, there's a scenario creation tool. But there is a limit to how many you can have in one park. Unfortunately. If you mean RCT3, there's a sandbox mode. -

Sweet, thanks!
Grrrr, I went to open one of my saved games, and it's still loading object files. I opened it at least 10 minutes ago. Um?? WTF? Is it busted?
I might add that this happened previously, but not one of my saved games, but rather one I downloaded. I ctrl alt del RCT to get out of it and when I launch it, it just continuse to load the files and never actually reached the green text. I uninstalled the game, reinstalled it, and now it's happening again, but on a different file. WHAAAA???
OK, I stopped it again. It was still running. And now when i launch RCT, it just continues to load the files. Now I need to reinstall. Fun!
Please don't triple post. Thanks.Edited by Corkscrewed, 21 April 2005 - 07:31 PM.

No need to reinstall, you've been gone so long that your game is just trying to catch up with the times.
I bet that over 50% of parks is custom scenery, and if you don't have any, it will take awhile. -

No, all the catching up needed is done. I checked the number of objects I had, let it run for half an hour or so, and then stopped it because it was still going. Guess what? The number of objects I had was the same. Any thoughts? -

*bump*
Does anyone have any idea why the game keeps breaking? It's still loading the objects. -
Titan Offline
The objects don't get loaded one at a time.
I've tried that. You stop in the middle and it does nothing. -

OK, I let it run for 40 minutes, before it randomly quit. It still doesn't work. I'm getting angry.
I uninstalled, reinstalled and broke the game again. Are you sure there isn't some patch that I should have installed or something?
[EDIT] Woo!! I fixed it. Kinda. If I take the saved game and use the object extractor on it before opening it, it works fine. Now I just have to figure out why it won't do it on it's own... -

No. Unless I explcitly load all the new objects from every saved game I download, it chrashes. Then to fix it I just need to run force-quit the game, load the saved game via the object loader and then run the game again and it works fine. Sure it works, but it's rather annoying. -

Sounds like your objects aren't extracting correctly to your object folder, which makes the game not realize they're there even though they're being extracted there each time.
My guess as to a solution is to have someone email you their objdata folder. -

Somewhere I heard that Panda World had to be downloaded? I assumed that wasn't the real case, but maybe you should try it.
I think the d/l is on the official site. -

Wow, that is very strange. Installing Panda World fixed it. At least I think it did. I D/L'd a new game and it loaded the scenery fine on it's own. Thanks!
