Well, unless anyone got wait listed or has an irregular response date, I think most rising Freshmen have gotten their college addmissions squared out or at least narrowed down. Where all did everyone get into?
Over on this end (The 4 I applied to):
-Georgia Tech
-Virginia Tech
-University of Florida
-Vanderbilt University
I think I'm all over Vanderbilt. Nashville is a great town. -

I did not go to UF, but I did live in Gainesville for almost a year and must warn you its the most boreing place in the world, ok, but boreing, mainly coz all the chicks are blonde and skinny, I hate that combo.. so maybe thats why I hated "G-vill"-University of Florida
Go to UM -

Applied to University of Illinois (urbana-champaign), and Purdue (Lafayette, IN) both for civil engineering, and was accepted at both.
I will be going to U of I next year, since it was rated #1 in the country for civil engineering recently. Now it's just on to those annoying scholarship forms.
and congrats to you mindbender on your accpetances. Those are some great universities, but what major are you going for? -

I'm still a few years from college but it's very likely that I'll being going to one of these:
Western Michigan University
University of Michigan
Michigan Tech
Kettering University
Ferris State University
There are probably a few others on the lake shore like Hope College I'll need to consider. In any case I'll be going for mechanical engineering and/or architecture.

To Kumba: Haha, well, my bro goes to Florida law school, so I was just down there from Jacksonville about a week ago for his birthday dinner. The party scene in Gainesville looked happening so I'm not sure I see your point about it being boring (although you're shit out of luck, like me, if you wanna do something besides getting smashed). The big thing that turns me off about UF, though, is the architecture. So many buildings were built in the 70's. I mean, every college has that ugly 70's building somewhere on campus but UF is mostly comprised of them. The frats are especially disgusting looking.
To marinersfan: Thanks man. Congrats to you on your admissions as well. Those are some high caliber schools too.
Like you, I'm looking into some kind of engineering. I'm still debating between civil and mechanical, but I suppose I have a lot of school before I need to or should decide. A minor in Japanese language would be cool if I have time, too. -

i took intro to mechanical engineering first semester...and intro to civil engineering 2nd semester here at Carnegie Mellon. I liked mech e. SOOOO much more....
in mech e, you build shit that does other shit: mechanisms, cars, engines, stuff that moves.
in civ e, you build shit that doesn't fall down: like buildings. I thought building something to do some task was much more exciting. For example, in mech e, we had to build a mousetrap powered car that adjusted it's steering to complete a spiraling course. In mech e, we built a beam and calculated when it would break. Mech e requires more creativity and thus is more fun, IMO. -

I ended up submitting full applications to San Diego State and Hawaii, and got into both. I really don't want to go to community college but I can't see how I'm going to get through college with $2000 of financial aid. I certainly don't want to work and take classes. So I am thinking about living overseas for a while, I've got to get out of this godforsaken country. -
