Have you guys tried the missions in gt4 yet? The overtaking ones are easy (apart from the last) but the 3 lap battles... bloody hell, they're taking me over an hour each. Done 3 today, really satisfying gaming, unlike the main parts of the game which can get a little boring. Also got my international A license and completed most of the beginner races, and I only got the game (well, with a memory card present) yesterday morning.

In short, I'm addicted. Would be interested to know how everyone else finds the missions though.

Im currently at 70%. But suprisingly I have only done the first 10 driving missions plus the muscle car 3 lap battle on seattle. I know that you win a new car for every 10 you do, plus one more the the final 5.

Even though I'm so far into the game, I have only attempted around 13 missions (the 11 that I have done plus the rally cars at Paris, and the classics at New York)

They ARE very difficult, you have to get every corner and racing line perfect in order to win. I tell you, I'm not looking forward to the Nurburgring Mercedes Mission - The last one.
I'll attempt a few more soon, and see how it goes.

I have a question for you guys, is it worth the buy? I am really into cars and engine's, is this like a realistic game like putting all the part's on your car? Are is it one where you put all the nitrous in your car and put the bodykits on it, and make you car look like a cholo's?

Nah, the closest you get to street racing in this game is adding nitrous, rims and a big wing. It's a class game.

Just tried the nurburgring - was +34s. The most annoying thing is that you have to wait 120secs for the countdown each time you restart, which is incredibly tedious and poor game design imo.

I'm just doing these atm cos they're a real challenge - I found in gt3 I got a polyphony up very early on and from then on it was tedium, not challenge.

This is the first GT game I have played, so I have to learn a lot... especially with turning.
But its a really fun game. Definately worth the buy.

If anybody watched Jeremy Clarkson get round the Nurburgring in 9min:59secs in a Jaguar S-Type 2litre on Top Gear, post if you have beaten his time with the exact same car.

My fastest time around the Ring is 5.05 in my Jaguar XJR-9 Race Car (1012hp). Its the car you win for completing 50%.

But yeah, Ive had the game for about 2 weeks now and I more or less know the Ring off by heart. Strangely, I actually prefer Circe De La Sarthe I and II over the ring, i dunno why, I guess its because you don't have to wait as long to get to the straight.

What cars do you guys recommend for the GT World Championship?
I got some race cars, but they go to slow...

It says it has around 600 HP, but it only goes up to 220?

I used the CLK GTR race car which you win from the Mercedes Manufacterer cup. Tune it up, stick Hards on the back and Meds on the front and your good to go, although I advise to keep restarting the championship untill the Nissan R92CP isn't included, he's quite the challenge.

I havn't really progessed much lately, I've mainly been just doing Family cups with my cars around the ring (Amuse s2000 = brilliant) on difficulty 5.
