Thank you sir. What the hell. He didn't say music was dumb, he said a billion threads of the same thing was.
yeah, music is cool and everything (though people who are all like "Oh I love music!" annoy me. i mean, everyone likes music. duh. shut up, your musical taste doesn't make you cool. But I digress), but not cool enough for thread after thread of the same mindless pedestrian shit. we've had a thousand "favorite band/song/album" threads already. and then you get shit like, "What song gets you in the mood? What song gets you pumped up? What song makes you want to get up and do the robot?" and so on. it just seems like an excuse for people to say HEY LOOK AT THE MUSIC I LISTEN TO ITS COOL SO I AM TOO.
I think a discussion on music is cool like what happens in the CD Collection thread that I partake in, but some of this shit is just boring and mindless. Like What Are You Listening To. Would be much better if actual conversation on music occurred in there. I try to start some a lot but it never works. just in general, people need to cut it out with the music elitist thing and just appreciate it for what it is--in their own privacy though, so it doesn't annoy me. -

Wow that was difficult! I feel bad constraining my lists to ten, but that makes it readable. And just to let you know, that's not an 'of all time' list; it's a 'as of right now' list. Red_Ant_Skittles, please explain the reasoning behind placing "Loyal To The Game" at the top of your list! That is, in my opinion, 2pac's worst album (worse than "Nu Mixx Klassics"). Just to give you an example of how bad it is, download "Words of Wisdom" and compare it to "N.I.G.G.A." "N.I.G.G.A." completely ruins 2pac's message and meaning of the original acronym. Futhermore, try to find the original "Ghetto Gospel," it is so much better than the released version. -

Jelly, this has more sense to it than what are you listening to. But yeah, the creation of quite a few of these music threads recently is pretty annoying. -
