Angels start raping your teams tomorrow, first victim being the Texas Rangers.

Um no. But you can thank Soriano for that.

Petitte looked decent in his start yesterday. And the Astros won. So that was good. Yeah.

Yes... Angels and Dodgers are both 2-1.

Angels had a great series with Texas, with all three games being decided by one run. Dodgers recovered from an opening day loss to pound the Giants twice. :D

And best of all, the New York wannabe-Yanks-but-aren't-really Mets are 0-3 after the Reds swept them. WOOT!!

Gee, the A's pitching staff has given up 5 runs over three games. Oh yeah, and our offense has scored more runs over those games than anyone else in the AL west. Last place huh?
  • Corkscrewed%s's Photo
    Last place... at 2-3. :D

Dodgers are off to a surprising 4-1 start. But finishing has always been the problem with LA, not starting.

Angels are 3-2, which is good for first.

And best of all, the New York Mets are 0-5. Ahahahahahahaha!! I love it!!

You guys got raped by Hideo Nomo and the DEVIL RAYS!

    w00t angels.

Yeah, yeah. What a difference a game makes. I noticed you guys weren't talking yesterday. :) But unless Zito has completely jumped the shark, I don't think he'll be giving up 7 runs again anytime soon. And we've got 4 .300 hitters in our lineup. They're bound to start hitting again sooner or later.

David Wells is a fucking train wreck. :(
  • Corkscrewed%s's Photo
You didn't have to be a seer to know that. ;)

David Wells is a fucking train wreck.  :(

at least i had coskie and vernon on my fantasy team.

anywho, a lot of good hitters are having shitty starts, like all of the braves. andruw jones needs to become himself again, and so does chipper. also jim edmonds is having a dissapointing start. i guess itll just take a few weeks

Travis Hafner is having a slow start, still not a homer. I have four fantasy teams on ESPN and I have him on 2 of them. I really hope he performs. So far the biggest surprise IMO is Omar Vizquel. He had 2 sb on Saturday and is playing pretty well. Some may argue that the biggest surprise is Joe Randa or Dimitri Young or even Xavier Nady, I don't think they will keep it up, I hope they do though since I have Randa on all but one of my teams and Nady on 2 of them and Dimitri Young on one. As for pitchers watch out for Denny Bautista, that guy is good. I was at the game where he was pitching and I was sitting right behind home plate and I was able to see the actual speed gun that is mounted on the netting and I saw that he was throwing 80 or higher on ever pitch, even in warmups. I would say that about 80% of his pitches were 92+ and he was still throwing at 94 in the 8th inning. I think he will do really well this year if he gets the run support he needs.

Well, the Mets finally won. :'(

Smoltz struck out 15 though. Tough to figure out if he'll be the pitcher he was today or the opening day version. Either way... dayam.

Methinks he's gonna be all over the place: pure genius one start, a disaster the next.

Anyway. I didn't see it but I'm sure today's ring ceremony was touching, and all that. Even Johnny Pesky got a ring. :) And Owen Wilson flew in from Hollywood to get his ring, as well. oh wait I mean Derek Lowe.

Oh yeah and all this was in front of the Yankees and then they got their asses kicked. hahaha. eat shit motherfuckers.

Jellybones i went to the game

    It was fucking sick.

Bill Russell, Bobby Orr, Teddy Bruschi, and Richard Seymour throwing the first pitches was amazing.

Us fans gave Mariano Rivera a standing Ovation for blowing so many games to us (6 out of the last 11 in fact.)

The game was amazing to... 8-1 win. Only bad part was it was freezing and i was in the non-alcohol section :twitch:

A-Rod got fucking shat on cuz he made an error that ended up costing them 2 or 3 runs LOL

    hahahahah...well done sir.
i'm not super jealous, i got tickets to the july 15 sox-yankees game anyway.

vizquel is hot, but its a short streak. dimitry young is gonna be good this year because he really is an amazing baseball player. he was out for a chunk of the season last year because he injured his knee and thats why he didnt put up incredible numbers. i feel like this year might be a career high for him, not just because of the 3 hr opening day game, but because the tigers as a whole team are better this year. hes got better hitters around him in the order hes gonna be swinging the bat more confidently. im not expecting 3 hr's out of him every game but im gonna guess that hes gonna have anywhere from 35 to 50 hr's this season and hit at least .290

randa is old, he just jumped on a few pitches that were left hanging, almost anybody in the mlb coudlve done that. but i like the reds so good for him i guess.

Dodger came back for a miracle home opener win against the Gints! W00t!!! 9-8 as Armando blows it!!!

    Angels win in a slugfest.

So only the first week, but LA's baseball teams are off to a great start! And USC's baseball team has been doing pretty well too, so triple plus! :D

    RIDICULOUS STAT OF THE WEEK:
The Florida Marlins pitching staff already has three complete games and three shutouts this season. And their ERA is like 1.52. Absurd.

    BY THE WAY
los angeles angels of anaheim? what is this shit? why did that happen?

p.s. brad wilkerson and pat burrell = really good start, nobody notices them, theyre both in the 10 top right now
  • Corkscrewed%s's Photo
LA Angels of Anaheim was over the summer. Definitely stupid, and there's a legal battle over it. Court case will start in November.

And dammit, leave it to Burrell to finally do well the one season I give up on him.

    Texas won tonight. :(
