I'm pulling for the Mets (or whoever ends up last place in the NL East) to finish with a better record than the NL West winner. Only because that's never happened in MLB, or in professional sports I believe. -

This was mentioned on either PTI or ATH the other week, and should be put into place imo. They should just make a rule that you need to be better than .500 to make the playoffs. Otherwise they give it to another wild card spot.
Anywho...
Angels @ Boston starting today in about 4 hours or so, no Schilling! w00t! -

Fuck after that bottom of the 5th.
Fuck yeah after so far the top of the 6th. You could see in Orlando's face that he was just wanting to piss the sox off and that MONSTER homerun did it. Then GA's sweet double... then of course they walk Vlad... lame. Whatever, Ersty's up... sorry Kai but I hate the Sox. -

WE STILL LOVE YOU OC
Even though the Renteria move ended up being wise (shows how much me and 90% of the Nation and like every sportswriter in the world know), Cabrera is still the man.
PS Kai isn't around anymore I don't think.Just leaves me and GigaForce and Steve to carry on the Boston torch.

It'd be a pointless rule. Not only is this a freak year, the winner of the West will almost surely have a .500 record, unless every time plays .500 ball the rest of the year. They should just make a rule that you need to be better than .500 to make the playoffs. Otherwise they give it to another wild card spot.

Finally... what a game eh? Paul Bryd's a masterpiece. Frankie almost blew it again. Shields owned the side. Onto Chicago. -

Didn't watch it. The Patriots are on, motherfuckers.

Okay, that play by Vlad to basically win the game might very well be the baserunning play of the year.
Background:
It's the top of the 12th inning, and Vlad slams the ball deep. Thinking it's a home run, he starts off with a trot, then realizes it's still in the park and nearly gets thrown out trying to reach second base. It's a double though, despite Vlad's gaff.
So basically, Benjie Molina comes up to bunt and move Vlad over to third. The bunt is a good one, forcing the third baseman in to make the toss to first, but Vlad never stops at third base! He runs through the third base coach's (Ron Reniecke) stop sign and sprints home! The first baseman makes the throw to catcher AJ Pierzynski, but the toss is wide, and Vlad actually eludes AJ's tag by veering off the baseline just a bit, then sliding and slapping home plate with his hand to score the game winning run.
K-Rod gets the save, but man, that was a hilarious play! It's on MLB.com right now if you want to watch it.
Angels WIN a nailbiter for once!
