I love it how the Yankees are making roster moves just to piss off the Red Sox now.
memo to Steinbrenner & Cashman: BELLHORN SUCKED. The entire year. Enjoy your new .216 hitter. -

Dammit, 2-1 loss in 11 innings!!!
That was truly an epic pitching duel tho. Definitely lived to the hype.
That's like the seventh straight time we could or should have won a game with just one different play... but didn't.
Hopefully, we can take the next two and come back to tie the A's up. -

6 Earned Runs actually. And you only scored 1 run in the other two times he faced the Angels this year (combined). Kennedy is scheduled to start Thursday instead and he hasn't gotten a win against the Angels in 6 career starts (all of which were with the Devil Rays, but his ERA sucked too). I'm hoping the A's use this opportunity to bring up Juan Cruz from AAA and let him start one. He's gone 5-1 with a 2.40 ERA and 90Ks in 75 innings since being sent down to Sacramento including 2 11K games, and one team-record 13K game. But we scored 9 runs off of him last time!!!

WOOOOOOOOOoo!!
What ^ said.
I've never bothered to figure this out, but is he related to Johan Santana? -

I guess it's your turn to celebrate a bit. I don't know whether it was a matter of the Angels' pitchers being that good or the A's hitters just being really terrible. (How many double-plays did we hit into in that series?) Blanton was fantastic in his start. He should have won that game the way he was dealing. And today was just pathetic. Kennedy kept us in the game and we couldn't do anything. It's not like Santana was striking everybody out. They just weren't making solid contact. Oh well. Tied again. I hope we can score some runs against the Yanks. -

Not scoring when you need to? Welcome to the Angels season. Our main problem half the time has been situational hitting.
On the other hand, not scoring should be a normalcy for you guys. You've just been spoiled by the four months of super hot hitting.
EDIT:
Yankees 0
Athletics 12
Only one thing to say to that. OUCH!! -

Yes, my team, the Cardinals, are the best team in baseball too. And they can do it without Sanders and Rolen. -

Angels get a one game lead thanks to a 2-1 series while the A's got knocked around a bit by the Yanks. But that means the Yanks are your wild card leaders.
And oly smokes! The San Francisco Giants have crept up into 2nd in the NL West! Only 5.5 games behind San Diego, which seems determined to lose the lead.
It'd be hilarious if the Giants ended up winning the west, tho tragic... to LA fans who hate the Giants... and SD fans who, well, would have to face the fact that their team blew it. -

To be fair, pretty much everyone in the NL West has blown it in some way or another.
I still say we take away their spot and give it to whoever finishes second in the East, regardless of whether that team won the Wild Card or not. -

They should just make a rule that you need to be better than .500 to make the playoffs. Otherwise they give it to another wild card spot.
