    Okay.
I don't know who likes which team but bottom line is the A's or the Angels or whoever better not let the Yankees hold onto this wild card lead for long. The baseball gods smile upon anyone who keeps those fuckers out of the postseason.
  • Corkscrewed%s's Photo
    Indians have a say too...
  • ekimmel%s's Photo
Yeah, the Indians are playing well but how long will that last? They're a very young team with little experience being close late in the season.

What the hell happened to the A's?
  • Jellybones%s's Photo
    Indians > A's
  • Coaster Ed%s's Photo

    Indians > A's

For one week only you mean. Oakland's pitching is waaay better than Cleveland's for one thing. And the offense was great for two months. If you compare them when Oakland is going through a slump, than fine - but look at the rosters. Cleveland is not better than Oakland. Neither are Minnesota or New York. It's a toss-up with Anaheim because they actually have pitching (sometimes ;) ).
  • Corkscrewed%s's Photo
In the mean time, we appreciate you cooling off and going back closer to normal (because face it: no team can be as hot as the A's were the last two months and do so consistently for a whole season).

Jesus the AL Wild Card is closer than Natalie Portman B)
  • Corkscrewed%s's Photo
NL Wild Card is pretty hot too.
  • Jellybones%s's Photo
    You know who's really hot.

    ...the KC (Accidental) Royals!!!

3 out of 4 against the A's and the Red Sox. Look out White Sox!

Nah but seriously. The White Sox are falling pretty bad. Cleveland will probably pass them, the way things are going right now.

Yeah, against a Detroit pitching staff....
  • Coaster Ed%s's Photo
That first game was against Jeremy Bonderman. He's a pretty decent pitcher, although his ERA jumped up 25 points after that game. And 7 HRs in two days is still 7 HRs in two days. Just about everyone in the lineup contributed with a homerun or a double in those games which is an encouraging sign for an offense that has struggled to score a couple runs per game for a week. They should shell Baltimore in the upcoming four game series if the offense is really back and that wasn't just a fluke. Just got to wait and see.

    PS:

Just got to get Haren back under 4.00 now.

The following article is a nice summary on why all real New England sports fans hate Dan Shaugnessy's guts:

    http://msn.foxsports...b/story/4812908

Fucking choke on your Guiness and die, douchebag.
  • Micool%s's Photo
    Because it's his fault?

    Riight..
  • Jellybones%s's Photo
It's not that his fault. It's just that he perpetually writes this sensationalistic bullshit.

Of course, where did all this optimism (or cockiness) come from, anyway? We used to be able to rely on Shaughnessy for being the number one pessimist in the most pessimistic sports city in the world. One World Series title and he's guaranteeing shit like he's Joe Fucking Namath. Goddamn.
  • Corkscrewed%s's Photo
    Ah crap.

This is gonna be one wild AL ride to the playoffs, since the A's, Yankees, and Angels now have the same number of losses, and Cleveland's just a couple back.

Whatever happens, I'm with Boston on this one. THE YANKEES CANNOT ADVANCE!!!!
  • Jellybones%s's Photo
Worse yet, the Sox have lost 3 of 4...to the fucking Royals and Tigers. :(
  • Coaster Ed%s's Photo
Don't worry, everyone's losing to the Royals and Tigers right now. And the Devil Rays too apparently. Spoilers extraodinaire.
  • postit%s's Photo
I'm really hoping the Indians can pull this off. They are doing so awesome with such a young team, that doesn't have much of any star power.
