Because too many people make shit scenery and put it in their parks. Then you download their parks, and get the scenery.(how the hell did i end up with 5797 pieces of scenery anyway...)
To solve, i would save all your games with objects imported, then move them to another folder like my documents. The uninstall the game, delete the rct2 folder. Then reinstall, and open all your parks up. -

ok that's nice, not sure i'm gonna use it though, could take some time going trough almost 6000 filesTheres this, which allows you to view each file and delete any you don't want, but aside from that I don't know of anything.
@ richie
yeah, did that, there is shit scenery, i've got 8 of the same scenery pieces (dumpster) with minimal changes. -

If you have any expansion packs installed, uninstall them. Worked for me, takes a few hundred files off.
If you delete any files using DATchecker, get in any trouble, use the DATchecker and do the following:
- Instead of deleting files you do not want, simply move them to a temporary folder which you can delete if your RCT works okay.
- If you accidentaly permanantly delete an important file- your RCT will be ruined. So store your deleted files in other places and if the game crashes upon loading, just reinstall the files back into your objDAT folder.
- If the game does not crash upon loading, delete the files you have removed.
Kinda hard to put it... Just a method i use that prevents me from losing any valuable files.
ps:- i think the limit is around 5000, not sure. Tyandor is an expert at this sort of stuff...
