The major news coming out of the Disney Imagineering Studios is the declaration of an informational lockout due to several leaks that were recently discovered. In one case, an unauthorized person was able to gain access onto the construction area. This intruder was able to take a few snapshots of the testing of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Later, these photographs were posted on a web site without permission. In another case, the entire list of attractions for the park was leaked to an unidentified person. Officials are not commenting on who received this list, but they believe that the sender was a high-ranking Disney Imagineer.

The result of all of this, however, much to the misfortune of fans tracking the development of this resort, is that in the future, graphical updates will be much more rare. Updates should continue on a regular basis, but the pictures accompanying should not. Disney CEO Michael Eisner gave numerous reasons for the lockout, citing the recent leaks and noting that many top officials on the project feel that it has been overexposed. They do not want all the surprises spoiled.

Moving on to news at the construction site, after a lull during the Christmas and New Years holidays, construction has picked up intensity again. In the Continental Pavilion area, work is now being done on all five sub-themed areas.

Testing on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad has been completed. After an initial problem with the block system, a problem that mechanics believe they have fixed, no other problems occurred on the high-speed attraction. Gardeners are now planting cacti and other types of bushes around the track course as well as erecting buildings and continuing on the theming around the area.

Next door, at the Caribbean Isle, a few buildings have been erected. Neverland Theater has been completed, and work is commencing on the entrance of the Pirates of the Caribbean. Landscaping is also being done, and benches, trash cans, and light posts are being placed in along the paths.

At the Dark Continent, work on the Jungle Cruise has progressed very rapidly. The course has been dug and filled with water, and the boats are being run through to course. Landscaping in this jungle area is sparse so far, with only a few areas completed. Workers are planting numerous varieties of lush, exotic plants and shrubs and scattering custom ruins around the area. The Jungle Cruise will feature traditional spots, like Schweitzer Falls and the explorer's camp. Also, nearby, a large tree-like structure, most likely for a towering, artificial tree, is being raised.

In the Eastern Realm, one attraction has been completed: Aladdin's Magic Carpet Ride. This area will eventually encompass the greatest number of attractions of any of the lands in the Continental Pavilion. The rumored Indiana Jones ride is said to be located here, and a rapids ride is also rumored to be built here.

And at the European Experience, work has begun on Fall of Claude Frollo, a downward launched tower ride to be built inside a replica of the Notre Dame Cathedral!

Finally, Fantasyland is beginning to take shape. King Arthur's Carousel has been constructed and themed, as has the Mad Tea Party. Work is commencing on Storybook Theater, where the classic fully-animated Disney cartoons will be screened daily.

Shown here is a glimpse at the Neverland Gift Shoppe, located in the Caribbean Isle. Next to this store is the entrance to Pirates of the Caribbean, on which work has started. This picture was taken before the entrance was constructed, however.

This is Schweitzer Falls, part of the Jungle Cruise. Boats can sail by it, and then wind around to see the other side of the falls!

When completed, Walt Disney Escape will join Warner Brothers Movie World, Madrid and Universal Port Aventura as the third major theme park in Spain. Featuring the best in traditional Disney ideas and the newest technological advances, Walt Disney Escape will provide a strong form of competition and strengthen Disney's business venture into Europe.

Please check back periodically for new updates on this exciting resort.

Looks good. I dislike the Schweizer Falls, quite some water for those little falls, but it could aslo have to do with the fact that it isn't fully themed.

I'm looking forward seeing how you are going to do the Notre Dame.

    Nice update. :)

I like the Caribbean Isle area.

The carousel looks a bit boring at the moment but maybe thats because theres just grass around the rest of it at the moment.

Jungle cruise looks awesome I'm saying this as I can just see the whole area finished in my head. I like the wasterfall and the idea of the ride going under it. :)

The point of it is that you can literally sail behind the waterfalls and see the backside of the falls ("named for the famous Dr. Albert Falls"). Instead of just having waterfalls and then having the boats sail through a tunnel in the land, I actually have them sailing behind the falls, withing nothing but air separating the boats from the backside of the falls. So if RCT had some sort of 3-D mode and you were on the boats, you could pass by the front and see the falls, then sail around the back and see the other side of the waterfalls.

    ;)
