Are you going to try and make a Spanish flag, cos that will be cool. Having an merican flag in Spain might cause a bit of controversy...

I see no reason why that should cause controversy. Why can't a Spanish park put on a American flag in a American themed area. It's like saying a Spanish flag in a Spanish area in a American park would be controversial. The world is (hopefully) more civilased (sp?) then that.

I'm not sure if the world is

(what i am gonna state now may offend you, I am sorry)

I live in Europe (Belgium) and let me say that at this time people arent all that yippee about the USA

I mean people have been calling it The United States of Agression

overall people think America is stuck up (I'm not saying America is), people feel the USA thinks they're the biggest, the bestest, the grandest

there have been demonstrations and all

overall, europe isnt that happy with the usa and teh usa putting its own flag in a park, might make some people pissed if it would happen in real life

this doesnt mean I hate the usa, or that I would rip off the flag etc, this doesnt mena you have to remove the flag
i'm just stating a few things

the answer to that question is simple, OUR PRESIDENT IS A DUMBASS WHO SHOULD U YANKED OUT OF OFFICE AND BEATEN WITH A STICK BECAUSE HE ONLY GOT ELECTED BECAUSE OF HIS FATHER. LOTS OF HIS WAR LIKE AGGRESSIONS ARE COMPLETELY UNECESSARY!! :@ :@ :@ :@ :@ :@

I apologize for the caps and for the excessive use of how i feel about the dumbass (I mean president) running our country. Also, if your saying that we have interveened (Sp?) in things that aren't our buisness, your 100% right. I wish i could do something about it.

Nice park BTW, that comment about the entrance made me remeber that it is VERY strange, i was just to focused on the kick ass asian part to tell u that ;) .

The second screen is the most impressive thing i've seen in RCT2 to date - I love it!  Really looking forward to some classic Corkscrewed coasters too (especially any traditional woodies you plan on making).

    @ x-sector......it's 'pukka'......god *rolls eyes* :D

It's a Disney park... do U really expect a plethora of coasters?
    :D

And, uh, to Coasterkid, I'm not sure what U mean by the "Asian part," but glad you like it, I think...
    :)

I piss my pants everytime I look at this, I can't decide which I like better... Disneys Escape or fatha's new one!!

Of course not, but a coaster to the qualilty of Fenrir, or maybe even Ragnarok would probably shut me up :D

The park looks better with every screen you post. Which is logical, since you seem to be improving your skills with every screen you post.

    Hey Natelox,

Being that you've made a lot of Disney parks, you should know that the globe is none other than Spaceship Earth. Genius.

    Seville, Spain

The vast majority of construction has been shifted over to focus on the Magic Kingdom park, with a small portion remaining on the outside resort area. Markers have been going up steadily for a month, now, on the two hotels to be constructed next to the park, and just a few days ago, the first vertical columns and boards were erected, signalling the start of vertical construction on first of the two hotels. This hotel, to be located east by southeast of the Magic Kingdom's Tomorrowland, will be finished before the other hotel, which will be closer to the park's Fantasyland. The names and themes of both hotels have not been divulged at this moment, though rumors speculate that one of the hotels will be a typical Disneyland-type hotel while the other may involve a watery, Atlantis-like theme.

Inside the park, Main Street, U.S.A. is practically finished. Only the landscaping around the northern portion of the Hub remains, and soon, construction on the castle will begin. Rumors have been flying about which castle will be built, with the possibilities narrowed down to:
    - Sleeping Beauty's Castle
    - Cinderella's Castle
    - Snow White's Castle
    - The Castle in Beauty and the Beast

Back on Main Street, insiders are saying that The Plaza Restaurant is perhaps the most incredible building in this area. The architecture is quite complex yet very elegant, giving a comfortable, nostalgic feeling. Outdoor and indoor dining is available, and the restaurant will serve fresh soups, salads, sandwiches, and desserts, as well as an assortment of gourmet main course meals and thirst-quenching beverages.

The portal to the now-confirmed Continental Pavilion has been constructed, leading to the first themed sub-area, The American West. The first building, the Golden Horseshoe Saloon, has been erected, and work on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad has begun. This classic Disney attraction will feature a unique layout but retain classic attributes of the other coasters, such as the final "splashdown" under fossilized ribs jutting out of the cliff.

The land clearing and watering of the Global Seas took practically forever, but finally, it has been completed. The size of this body of water is absolutely mind-boggling, rivalling that of EPCOT's World Showcase Lagoon! The five themed sub-areas will be clustered around this immense lake.

Finally, more confirmed information continues to trickle out, apparently, purposefully leaked by Disney Imagineers. The Dark Continent will be the home of the Jungle Cruise while the European Experience will play host to a Haunted Mansion attraction. The exact name of this ride has not yet been determined. Fantasmic! has also been confirmed to be constructed north of the Continental Pavilion and west of Fantasyland. Entrance to this amazing nighttime spectacular will be from the passageway connecting Fantasyland to the Continental Pavilion.

That concludes this rather lengthy update. Below are three pictures that don't really reveal much in terms of what has been done. They are slightly out of date (meaning more work has been done since they were taken), but still indicate some of the new additions to this extravagant, well-financed resort, scheduled to open in summer of 2003.

Apparently in response to recent criticisms of a lack of a Spanish flag, two of them have appeared by the ticket booths, outside of the park.

Shown here is the east side of the northern part of Main Street. Directly across but not picture is the extravagant Plaza Restaurant. The white building shown is the elegant Crystal Palace.

The landscaping for this inner portion of the Hub has been completed. On the north side, behind the statues of Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse, is the area for wait times.

When completed, Walt Disney Escape will join Warner Brothers Movie World, Madrid and Universal Port Aventura as the third major theme park in Spain. Featuring the best in traditional Disney ideas and the newest technological advances, Walt Disney Escape will provide a strong form of competition and strengthen Disney's business venture into Europe.

Wow man this park sounds so awesome. All the things that are coming sound really great. I think you should do the Beauty and beast castle :D (don't know why really). The screens look awesome as always.

God I need to sort my RCT2 disk out yours and fatha's park just make me wanna start my own park.
  • mantis%s's Photo
Corkscrewed - I think the thoroughness with which you update us with your progress, and the realistic nature of the news are what make your park projects special - not forgetting that the parks themselves are always cutting edge, innovative....running out of fancy words....maybe I should try....LOOKS AWESOME MAN!!!!111!!!! W000TTTT

    Nice job yo.
Looks like this battle between us will get interesting. My only gripe with the screens are the large backs of the buildings (I hate those), however, seeing as this park is very realistic, those are approriate. If you made the backs large so u can fit shops in, than thats not a good reason in my book.

Go check out the TRUE rct2 masterpeice, BGSS! :D

I also heard the Robin Hood rumor! I heard it was gonna be an adventure ride where riders shoot at targets...similar to Buzz Lightyear in the Tommowland sections...of course, this is coming from my dad who owns Disney so what do I know???

Corkscrewed, like it was said earlier, I love the way you present your parks, it keeps everyone watching and always makes you parks special, the new screens look aweosme by the way, cant wait for the next update...........

It's actually both. In this park, I'm really aiming for a visitor's experience, not necessarily a viewer. Thus, in true Disney fashion, we have a LOT of fake facades (ya know Main Street is just filled with them) and stuff like that. I also have real shops/restaurants in some of them. ;)

Thanks for the comments, tho. It fills me with joy. :)

Man... I REALLY hope they come out with some Beast Trainer for RCT 2... I can sure use it for parades and for the Main Street Cars.

BTW, if anyone knows of any wealthy corporations/companies headquartered in Spain (preferably near Seville, which is in the southern part of the country, I believe), could ya gimme a list? It relates to the storyline. :D

This very quick and much shorter update concentrates itself mostly on The American West section of the Continental Pavilion. Work on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad has progressed, as the station, first lift hill, and final brakes have been constructed. Land work has also been done to create the mountain, and the queue line has been laid and partly themed. As an E-Ticket attraction, this roller coaster will feature Disney's patented FastPass system, which enables guests to skip lines and reduce their wait times drastically.

The park has confirmed Space Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain as two of its coasters, but rumors are running rampant that another coaster, one of the many prototypical "Mountain" rides that was never built, such as Geyser Mountain, may, in fact, make its home in the park. Officials refuse to comment on which one would be built or if any other coasters would be featured at the park at all.

Meanwhile, Disney Imagineers did release three photos of the area around the Thunder Mountain station.

Here is another view of the area, with its highly detailed queue line.

Here's a quick look at the nifty FastPass machines located near the exit of the attraction. Guests can simply insert their park passes and receive a special FastPass that allows them to return later in the day at a specifically appointed time and be able to bypass most of the normal wait time by entering a special FastPass line. It saves a great amount of time and is completely free.
