Are you going to try and make a Spanish flag, cos that will be cool. Having an merican flag in Spain might cause a bit of controversy...

I see no reason why that should cause controversy. Why can't a Spanish park put on a American flag in a American themed area. It's like saying a Spanish flag in a Spanish area in a American park would be controversial. The world is (hopefully) more civilased (sp?) then that.

I'm not sure if the world is

(what i am gonna state now may offend you, I am sorry)

I live in Europe (Belgium) and let me say that at this time people arent all that yippee about the USA

I mean people have been calling it The United States of Agression

overall people think America is stuck up (I'm not saying America is), people feel the USA thinks they're the biggest, the bestest, the grandest

there have been demonstrations and all

overall, europe isnt that happy with the usa and teh usa putting its own flag in a park, might make some people pissed if it would happen in real life

this doesnt mean I hate the usa, or that I would rip off the flag etc, this doesnt mena you have to remove the flag
i'm just stating a few things

I completly do not agree. I am not interested in writing a several pages long story why the US is justified in their actions on terrorism. In case you don't know, rumors say that a ferry in Europe might be blown up. I'm from Holland, btw so I know what you mean with your US of Agression.

Besides, doesn't DLP has a US flag too? Never heard anything about it.
  • Ello%s's Photo
You can't agree or not agree with me, i wasn't stating my feeluings towards the USA

I was just saying that there are /people/ (in general, not me) who have certain negative feelings towards the USA, so I dont know wether it is realistic that the disney parkmakers would put a flag up and all that

about Disney land Paris, I dunno, i've been there and I never saw this huge flag, maybe there were lil ones I didnt see, maybe I was just enchante dby mickey mous eto see the flag ;)

ow btw: I really like the lego store in this park, I wonna be in the lego store!!!!!!!!!

Most people in the US voted for Gore, you know. The only reason why Bush won because he had a brother in Florida. And every single person that I've talked to strongly opposes any war in Iraq. So I bet it's just the hicks that are messing up everything. I, personally, share many European's hatred of the US's government, and I am an American.

It's not that weird having an American flag in the section, I think. If it's American theme, then naturaly you would put items corresponding to the theme, ie, a flag.
  • Roberto Roboparks%s's Photo
Thank you Pawn. My point was that a American flag wasn't controversial, and I do know there is some controversy about the US. But then again, that is not the issue here. Let's get back to commenting on this awesome, can we :D .

I didn't mean to start a full-scale discussion on it.

The park looks grand, the lego store kicks ass, and i love the resteraunts (sp?)

    Coaster pic please.

    Seville, Spain

Main Street, USA is progressing slowly. The workers are erecting each building detail by detail, making sure every aspect of a classic, turn of the century main street is fully represented here. As construction winds towards the hub, land clearing and marking continues on the other areas.

In the roller coaster news, Disney has only commented that the park will contain a Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and a Space Mountain. The exact type of Space Mountain is not known, as plans have not been issued. Insiders are claiming that it will be a more traditional model, much like the version found in Disneyland, instead of the LIM-powered version at Disneyland Paris, which is relatively nearby from a marketing point of view. Nothing has been confirmed, of course. However, one note is certain: as a Disney park, not that many coasters are expected.

When completed, Walt Disney Escape will join Warner Brothers Movie World, Madrid and Universal Port Aventura as the third major theme park in Spain. Featuring the best in traditional Disney ideas and the newest technological advances, Walt Disney Escape will provide a strong form of competition and strengthen Disney's business venture into Europe.

    Seville, Spain

Since the last photo report, drastic changes have been implemented on Main Street U.S.A. at the Disneyland Park. Apparently, the Main Street design sent to the contractors was the wrong one. Somehow, a previous design was sent and partially erected before an inspecting Disney official noticed the blunder. As a result of this rather embarrassing mistake, the entire area was practically torn down and begun anew. The City Hall and Fire Station were re-erected, as were many shops that line the themed area. This blunder means a small delay in the eventual opening date, though crews are working as hard as possible to make up for the valuable lost time.

Disney Imagineering has released a few more details about the park--mostly names of areas, and has revealed a bit more about the future planned layout. In a publically released statement, the group announced:

This announcement regards the highly anticipated "Continental Showcase" area that will take the place of the traditional Frontierland, Adventureland, and New Orleans Square commonly found in other Disney parks.  This area will be a large themed area with several sub-theme areas, much like The Golden State at Disney's California Adventure encompasses several smaller themed lands.

Guests will enter the "Continental Showcase" (still a working name) from the hub, arriving at the first themed sub-land, The American West, a traditional wild western town with a Frontierland flavor.  Behind the beautiful facade of saloons, stores, and bars runs Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, one of the legenardy "Mountains" of Disney parks.  For the smaller children, less intense attractions will be avaible, such as a miniature mine cart ride that ventures deep into an abandoned mine shaft.

Moving to the right of The American West, just north of the area location-wise, is The European Experience.  Guests will be swept into the romantic European cities, like London, Paris, and Venice, experience the very best of Europe without leaving home.  Several indoor attractions will be located in this area, including a thrilling Peter Pan attraction similar to the classic Peter Pan's Flight at Disneyland.

Moving along the edge of the Global Seas, guests will enter an as-of-now unnamed area devoted to Asian cultures.  This and the South American themed sub-land, which is located to the south of The American West, are the most closely guarded secrets at this time and will not be elaborated upon.  Suffice to say that the Disney Imagineering team has a few surprises in store for all anxious guests.

The final area in this brief tour is The Dark Continent, themed to Africa and located between the Asian-themed and South American-themed lands.  This area will remind theme park enthusiasts of Walt Disney World's Animal Kingdom, a place fill with lush vegetation, exotic aromas, tropical wildlife, and a host of thrilling attractions that people of all ages can enjoy.

A final word about this area regards the nighttime fireworks show, which is rumored to take place here instead of behind the castle, like it traditionally does. Another rumor suggests that the nighttime fireworks will be set behind the castle, and that a third high-attraction show will occur in the Global Seas, possibly similar to Illuminations at EPCOT!

Indeed, news has been buzzing around the construction zone. Disney officials, as usual, have released three photographs showing features from Main Street.

So does the fire station, which is modelled after the Magic Kingdom version at Walt Disney World.

I can't believe those stupid staff going of the plans. :)

The park itself is looking total amazing. This park is just so pucker (Jamie Oliver says this if you don't know the word.) I love how you use the colours and your architecture is awesome and I think the park captures the Disney feeling.

Those are some very nice photographs. My favourite has too be the second one because that white building is very good, and it stands out. Also the American flag with the red, white and blue flowers around it at the base. Looking very good, hope progress is coming along.

    ;)

The second screen is the most impressive thing i've seen in RCT2 to date - I love it! Really looking forward to some classic Corkscrewed coasters too (especially any traditional woodies you plan on making).

    @ x-sector......it's 'pukka'......god *rolls eyes* :D

    Wow,

A Lego Store, Rainforest Cafe', a Pooh Shop, Dude, that's Disney. I am a huge Disney fan and am thinking this has the potential to be the best Disney park. You should throw in an Epcot recreation now thaty RCT2 has the content to do so. Rad.

    Killjoy :OMG:

we (as rct players) could have made an Epcot recreation in RCT, but the restriction was the globe. I know how to do it now, an i might make an epcot recreation someday (with my own ideas added of course :) ). X-sectors DEO entrance shows how u can do the globe, i was not inspired by that (had the idea before i saw the park).

corky, looks good! btw, i've heard a rumor about the rumored "Forbidden mountain" attraction for Animal kingdom...one might be built at WDE in The Dark Continent! ;)
