What was once a grand and glorious mega-project has now become more or less a backburner park that I work on when I have the time and inspiration and am not bothered with other RCT or non-RCT responsibilities.
But you might be delighted to know that I haven't forgot about this little project. Plus, this is the largest park advertisement ever, and I'd hate to have it end.
So in short... THERE ARE SCREENS THIS TIME! But since this is no longer a #1 priority project, I'll drop the formal tone and tell you about what I've done.
Here's a shot of the final drop on Kilamanjaro Rapids, a rapids ride found in the Dark Continent part of the park, which in turn is a sub-section of the Contentinal Showcase. For those who've forgotten or never knew, this park is like a mega Disney park, taking the best from all of its real parks and putting them into on. The Continental Showcase, then, is where EPCOT finds itself transformed.
Here's another shot of the ride, behind Mount Kilamanjaro. The icy extinct volcano serves as the "weenie" of this area of the park, hidden off the main path, looming in the background.
So I've managed to finished The Dark Continent, which makes three complete sections out of like... a lot. Though every other section has something in it at least....
Here are some more screenshots of already-completed areas (some done over two years ago). Seeing as the pictures don't work anymore, maybe these will be new to some people.
Here's a shot of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, located in the American West subsection of the Continental Showcase. To my knowledge, this ride does NOT kill people.
This is the entry to Pirates of the Caribbean, located in the Caribbean Isle subsection of the Continental Showcase.
It was Beast's Castle (the happy lively version at the end of the movie) that was chosen for the main weenie of this Spanish park. The castle stands over 200 feet tall and is glimpsed from many areas of the park.
Behind the castle lies Fantasyland, featuring the usual assortment of dark rides. There are Pinnocchio's Journeys and The Scary Adventures of Snow White as well as King Arthur's Carousel. The other two dark rides are based off of Robin Hood and the Adventures of Mr Toad.
If you look carefully, you can see a boat going behind the backside of Schweitzer Falls, which is of course, named after that famous explorer, Dr. Albert Falls. This and other traditional gags abound on The Jungle Cruise, found in the Dark Continent section of the Continental Showcase.
No Magic Kingdom is complete without its Main Street, so here is Spain's. This shot shows the area near the entry of the park, with City Hall and the Fire Station prominent, as well as other stores.
Splash Mountain is found in Fantasyland in this park, and features the beloved harrowing descent into the Briar Patch.
A quick shot of the entry to Tomorrowland. If this park ever gets done, this will probably be the last area finished. My excuse is tradition, as that was the case in Disneyland in 1955!
A shot of the S.S. Donald, anchored in Toon Town Escape, which boasts an assortment of rides and attractions for the little tykes.
Finally, here's a shot of how much I've managed to accomplish in over two years. Kinda sad, I know, but remember, there is no custom scenery in this park, it's 256x256, and I've done a crapload of other things in between. So there.
So, um, consider this my Merry Christmas present to all of you. This project isn't amazing anymore (if it ever was), but it's probably a pleasant surprse, eh? -

Oh yeah, and in case you're wondering, it's unlikely that this will be finished, because I've used like 16/19ths of my map data but I'm pretty sure I'm not 16/19ths done with the resort. So it'll be released when I hit the limit. -

The screens are fantastic, dated, of course, but fantastic. If you look carefully, you can see a boat going behind the backside of Schweitzer Falls, which is of course, named after that famous explorer, Dr. Albert Falls.
This actually made me laugh out loud, thankyou very much for that!
Have a good Christmas, and hurry up! -

An amazing park, one of my favourites in the making.
All the new screens are brilliant.
I hope this park gets finished, even if we have to wait another year for it. -

i just like looking at the map. the sheer size and thought put into the park makes it really interesting to look at. Nice screens, though.
Finish, por favor.
