i can't seem to decently look at six frags VP park. It's too goddamn slow, seems like it has to load the entire park when the view of the coastercam looks towards it. If this is the same for everyone, i doubt that rct3 was really made for parkmaking, as this is quite the little park. -

^same here. I have a 3.0GHz P4, 1024MB RAM and a radeon 9800pro and even with the quality tuned down it won't run properly. If think I get about 5-10 fps here while it needs to be above 30 fps. -

Same here. I couldn't even ride a coaster. And if I did, it was not worth it. It does run quite slow. Oh well. RCT3 -

From what I have heard from the atari forums, the game was programmed badly. It has been said and seems to be true, that RCT3 came out way too early and seemed to be released unfinished. While they are fixing bugs with patches (patch #2 should be out soon) the games dramatic slow down dissapoints a lot of players, since these slowdowns can occur with the smallest parks.
Some peoples computers run the game better then others, but still, a park like Six Frags' Ensueno can give the greatest PC's around a hard time.
Just think of what the computer has to do within every frame. It has to calculate ride physics, clouds, movements, transitions to day and night, water refelctions (if they are available to you), and peeps which is the biggest cause for slowdown.
Tyandor - On my computer, while running scenarios, I usually have around 13-18 FPS. Even at that rate, the game runs incredibly smooth IMO. 30 fps is even better, but that much FPS is unlikely with SF's park.
Hopefully they can fix some of the issues with these slowdowns in the near future. But for now, thats just the way RCT3 is at the moment. -

Quick question. How do you find your fps? Is it a code? I'm pretty sure I am getting a low amount of frames, but I am curious to know what I am really getting. Thanks. -

To find out how much FPS you have, just rename one of your peeps FPS.
its one of the cheat codes within the game that can really be helpful. -

Well the point is that I'm used to First Person Shooter. When you play them online you'll die instantly if your framerate drops below 30fps. It must be crystal smooth, because can't afford the error simply because you'll miss your shot. 30fps is actually the minimal for smooth gameplay.Tyandor - On my computer, while running scenarios, I usually have around 13-18 FPS. uhm, you tried to open Ensueno from Six Flags? My game runs smooth until I open a larger park. Scenarios work fine.My computer sucks and the game runs so smooth with no slow downs at all.

Took my computer a good 5/10 minutes to open it , and then hung for ages, every move of the camera.. Wasn't worth looking at at all it was so slow. Took a good few seconds to move at all every time I moved the mouse -

I cant get i to work. It loads scenary, gets to terrain on the loading menu then just cuts the whole game off to the desktop. I hate RCT3 so much
