    Hello.

    Sad news..........

As a big influence to me for getting into guitars and music in general, this is a very sad day for me.
I wasn't the biggest Pantera fan in the world, but Darrell's guitar playing really inspired me to get into music. If it wasn't for him and FF, I would have never appreciated instrumentation and music in general.

I will remember Darrell for as long as I live for giving me a great deal of confidence to play as good as he could. My sympathy goes out to his family, friends and all of his fans. God bless...

She identified the gunman as Nathan Gale, 25, of Marysville, 25 miles northwest of Columbus.

    Hmmm....

That's the killer's phone number. Considering that he's dead, I'm not sure what'd happen if you call it.

However, it's tempting to do it and just start shouting in unearthly pain.

    RIP Dimebag :(

This is very sad news....and the way he was killed makes it even more shocking.

    RIP Dimebag Darrell Abbot (1966-2004)

Terrible news. I used to be a big fan of Pantera, not so much nowadays but I still think they were a great band. I lived inside Vulgar Display of Power for a month and a half when I first got it.

Quite a spooky co-incidence between Dime's murder and John Lennon's assasination.

Yeah...I heard about this from a friend at school. And to top it off, all these little punk faggots thought it was hilarious that he died. Really sad day...

I wouldn't be surprised if some news came out and said it was the music that made that person do it.
And blow it all way out of proportion.

Not a fan of the music but he'll be missed.

This fucking sucks. I didn't know it killed him. I turned the alarm clock off right before they say that he was killed.

No, obviously deliberate. This guy obviously thinks it's his art: making the pantera guy of an equal status, if not higher, to John Lennon by shooting him on the anniversary. That would be my guess, anyway.

I wouldnt say obviously deliberate but your theory is a possibility. It is plausible that this guy is trying to put Dimebag into the same light as John Lennon.

This really pisses me off since I knew Dimebag, seeing as we're both from Dallas. I met him when he was just starting out with Damage Plan. Went to a couple of his sessions; I was usually the only that went to most of their gigs and rehearsals. I also knew the security guard who once was a radio DJ on the metal station that shut down a couple months ago. Met him once at, ironically, a Damage Plan concert.

I wonder what the shooter was thinking. Was he thinking that maybe if he shot them that Pantera would get back together? Hmm, I don't think he was the smartest fish in the barrel since now Pantera WILL get back together first chance they get...*looks up at "heaven"*...

That really sucks, Pantera was a decent band too, along with Damageplan.

    RIP Dimebag :'(

Dimebag was a great guitarist not one of my favorites but shit did i respect his talent. its craxy that someone would shoot him just because he broke up with his band. Whats even worse is that it wasnt his fault they broke up.

And what makes it even worse is that the killer was from my town, Marysville, and that the Ala Rosa(sp?) is about 20 minutes from where I live. The killer lived about 5 minutes down the road, and graduated from my high school.

I can't say I'm a big fan of the heavy metal genre of music, but I do appreciate the talent these guys had. From what I've read about him, he was a real down to earth guy, never arrogant or cocky like most rockers are nowadays.

A big loss for the metal community. :(

This dude was a brillant guitarist. One of my favorites even. Go pick up Damage Plan everyone. The songs themselves arent the greatest, but Dime's solos are worth the CD alone.

I don't see how killing a memer of Pantera is going to help them get back together?

I mostly like more punk like music and tend to stray away from heavy metal (With the exception of Early Mettalica and Black Sabbath), but it is truely a sad thing that he is gone, as a guitarist myself, I know that he was an amazing guitarist and he will be truely missed.
