Man I got fucked playing a 60 person tornament today...
I started off like always going all in with an ace and a high card, hopeing to get lucky, in this case I had A10 off vs KQ off, I won with the ace high and got double (2,000). Then I just sat and waited on another big hand and scored a double knock out with 88 to go up to 5,000. At this point I had the second most chips only trailing the guy to my left who had 7,000, then I had one bad beat with my QQ beat by J10 suited, but a few hands after that I landed rockets (AA) I went all-in, the chip leader to my left had AK, I doubled up and had a huge chip lead with 10 players left.
So here we go, the final table starts. Only the top 5 get paid so with the chip lead I just waited till it got down to 5 befor playing anything. We got down to 4 and the guy to my left was down to the felt so I went for the knock out with 63 off and won. So down its down to 3 and I taker out the third guy with a J on the river beating his A10 suited with my KJ off. So now its heads up and this other guys got about half of what I got. I forget the first hand but I got a lot of chips out of him, then I lost going all in with 2 pair on the flop when he hit a runner runner full house. Next I got beat again, I was down to next to nothing but won 3 hands in a row and put him back down to nothing. I had like 95% of the chips and the shit hit the fan. I lost with KJ off vs 85 off when this motherfucker floped a shright, then the next 2 hands I had till the river and lost 2 in a row. So now he was back on my tail, but I beat him bad again and took him back to next to nothing, then I did the crazyest thing I think anyone in poker has ever done.... I had such a huge lead on the small blind I siad I was was all in in the dark, then to try and tempt the guy to call I filpped one of my cards. It was an ace and he folded. I turned over the other card and... yes it was also an ace
Long sory shot the guy won like 5 in a row all in each time and I finished second in what mite have been the wildest poker heads up ever. Me and my Dad who was watching both were stunned, I had at leased 8 shots to win and lost all of them! The good news was I won a large wad of cash witch means I can wait another month befor "needing" to get a job
So anyone able to top a beat like that? It was my first ever final table and I dubt i'll ever get over it. Hope you guys enjoy that story, tho its kinda a "had to be there" kinda thing...

I started playing last year. I'm not that great. I've been to the 3/6 tables a few times at Barona Casino, but I usually either do poorly, or I just don't leave when I'm doing well. That's the main thing I need to work on (leaving). I played two tournaments at Viejas. I did pretty well at the first one, and I knocked out seven people, which yielded 35 dollars in bounties. However, I didn't make it to the final table (I would've been in about 11th place, if you were to do it that way). That was a pretty fun tournament, but I don't remember any particularly exciting stories from it. I sucked at the other tournament I played there though. Aside from that, I usually just play with my friends or at smaller charity tournaments at my school. Hopefully next summer I'll only be playing a few tournaments at the casinos, since playing 3/6 has been a losing venture. -

Yeah walking way can be really hard. I remember one time in a 2-4 game I got up over $150 and got cocky and tried playing every hand to get lucky, in a blink of an eye I was back down to $100 and walked away. What you really need is time, you got to be able to wait for good cards if you want to consistently win, and if you think your on a roll keep yourself on a limit, like say to yourself "im only gona use these chips" and by these chips about double your buy-in is about right imo. -

Hello.
Once I am up, I only play suited connectors and high pocket pairs.
If you are at a NL table you can bluff a little bit and read people win their stacks, but in limit you need the cards.
