I dont know Hershey park, so I cant comment on accuracy.Your architecture looks really stale, and Im not a fan of that huge diagonal path either. However if its there for realism, Im ok with that. Rock work needs work
I understand that you have a specific area to work within here but this just really doesn't look like Tidal Force to me. Is it at all practical to build the lift at a steep diagonal to the left and then have a more traditional drop with flowing water and a straight run out at the bottom?
I know you'd need to move some buildings around but Tidal Force is a huge ride and looks much more like a flume than a coaster. This looks like a small ride and has a very awkward coaster drop and turn. I understand you're trying to work within the strict parameters of the game but I'd take some creative liberty move some things around if necessary to make this look more like Tidal Force.
I don't mean to sound negative, this is a great project and a splash boat ride with an accurate layout is hard to pull off but I feel like there has to be a better way to do it.
^^ I agree, but to be honest, I'm not sure what the best way to do it WOULD be without hacking, at which point it still probably wouldn't look right. The easiest way to do it would probably be a wooden merge on a splash boat.
As for the rest, it looks a bit bland and "clean," not really in the spirit of hershey. HOWEVER, it does still look very accurate, or at least as close as I remember to what it actually looks like (haven't been to hershey in years) but great work, and I agree that its a very hard area to replicate in RCT
@Coasterbill, that's actually a really good suggestion with the left steep turn. Unfortunately, the recreation of the park barely fits within the largest map size, so pushing it that way would mean that Lightning Racers would fall off the edge of the map. I appreciate the CC though, maybe some wooden tracks with some sort of diagonal water scenery might make the diagonal look more flumey?
As for the rest of it, it definitely needs to be "dirtied up" (haven't even really put benches or tables or garbage cans in yet), but it's at least something presentable from the macro-level build out I've been working on before doing too much detailing.
This is a really exciting project. I think I remember seeing an overview of the park on a stream or perhaps on reddit and the biggest problem I have is with all the diagonal buildings. I am personally not a huge fan of them and whilst I know that it'll probably look fine from front on, every other angle just isn't my cup of tea. I guess that's the problem with making a recreation though, sometimes you have to sacrifice aesthetics for realism; which is a shame.
I notice this particularly in this screen; you have an excellent foundation, but a lot of things (especially buildings) are just a little unrefined (which I think shows quite clearly on the diagonal building). Hopefully as you continue on this project the refinement will come and you will be able to combine aesthetics and realism together.
This is a really interesting project, and I'm sure I speak on behalf of a number of us by saying that I hope this gets finished.
Thanks, Stoksy. You are right about the lack of refinement; a lot of it right now comes down to I just haven't pulled in some decent diagonal objects (windows, etc) into the bench yet, but it is also mostly just a macro build through right now and doing detailing after the whole park is scaled out. You very likely saw the overview on reddit... I might post one here once I finish up the remaining build out of the park into the midway area. And assuming I don't run the scenery counter out, it should be finished
actually he most likely saw it on a stream, i think it was on one of robbie's streams. hershey park came up and i mentioned your project, followed by me posting the overview.
but i think you need to go further into detail like mentioned by others here. the tidal force station seems to lack refinement, so maybe add some small deco blocks in there to add a little bit of depth, i don't know what colour the actual tidal force station is, but i think the darker brown would look better on this.
Here's the imagery for comparison. Cool to know it was shown off elsewhere I do see what people are saying on the building detail. I'll hopefully have more of that soon.
I think you would've been better off doing a diagonal lift here, I think it would create a little more contrast with the surrounding areas. That way you could use the splash boats car too.
If you're going to stick with an un-diagonal lift, use the bobsled chain lift

This is such a tough area of Hershey to do. Good luck with this

I'd make that bridge square instead of diagonal. It's not *that* diagonal looking from the map, and it'd look better in-game to be square.
