Looking great. Nice foliage and landscaping work, looks like a powerful finish to that invert. Small suggestions; a fence alongside the railroad track, and some land type changes; dirt/dirtgrass on the riverbank, and grey tile under that queue line to match the rest of the path.
Makes me miss LL. I miss the days when foliage didn't have to have insane amounts of underbrush and zero-clearenced trees etc. I miss the days when we didn't have to have highly detailed buildings everywhere. ...sigh... Looking at new screens after looking at this just hurts my eyes, lol! Honestly it's why I like RCTNW's work so much: the foliage and buildings don't hurt my eyes from detail. I mean most H2H6 parks gave me a headache looking at them, hahaha! Man, the "PT2 style" is still my favorite, back in the good ol' days...
Also, this reminds me of some changes from RCTLL to RCT2 that I still question as to why they did it, such as: 1) omitting so many of the surface and vertical face land texture options, those were awesome 2) Booster sections on track got axed which pissed me off, seriously they were one of my favorite things ever and 3) the variety of default path options that got left out, why did they invent all those great path types only to omit them later?
But we did get custom scenery, paths, and rides, which is pretty dang awesome, the shift and ctrl keys which I can't live without, more coaster types, and a few new track pieces that I really love. Although I wish all of the coaster types received the new track pieces options that came with RCT2. The first thing I did when I got the game back in 2002 was build an Intamin, and I was blown away at the banked inclined curves and swooping steep to horizontal transitions. Then I was like "sweet I wonder if the corkscrew and minetrain etc etc can do this too!" I was so disappointed.
So I guess basically I want a game that's a mix between LL and RCT2, with custom scenery, where we get all of the land texture and pathing options back, all of the coasters can be built with any track piece, and a minimal need for hacking in general (all rides can be 595 ft high, no clearances on rides or scenery pieces without glitching, etc). I would pay full retail price for that game tomorrow if it were real.
Oh yeah great screen by the way, forgot to say that! Sorry about the novel of a post that doesn't really talk all much much about the screen.
I totally get what you're saying. I find rct2 a bit overwhelming to build with. I wish rctll had the same coaster options but I much prefer scenery and building in ll.
I try to start a park in rct2 and I soon get bored spending 15mins on a building that would take 2mins in ll. I haven't got the patience to be ultra detailed in rct. I much prefer building parks that work with the game and I can actually play.
