DAMN man, I feel that you're getting a hell of a lot more inspired with this new rendition of your park. Scale makes more sense as well.

Yeah, really something special. The sign posts are done really nice btw. Oh and everything feels really real, all the textures are worked perfectly and the scale is well thought out. Your best work yet.

Totally worthy of having my 9500th post :p

It's really nice. Refreshing to see a Disneyland on a decent scale rather than having 15ft worth of awnings. A few issues I have are the seemingly completely flat roof, which when you have that for the whole building will become very monotonous.

Also, I'd like to see you build your own lamp posts, because at the moment they're smaller than the awnings and don't really fit the scale.

In the previous city i lived in, there were lampposts as high as our house itself, i doubt it really matters.

^Surely that's backing my point then if the lamp posts here are smaller than just the ground floor...?

And saying 'I doubt it really matters', things like that are the difference between getting a Silver/Gold and a Spotlight. The little details are the things that people notice more so than anything else and are what make a park stand out. Granted, something like that may seem insignificant to you personally, but for me it really throws off the scale. Plus, it's always nice to see custom lamp posts, so this is kinda an excuse to see some of them in here.

Originally I disagreed with you (^) but I must say the longer I look at the screen the more I see that the lampposts are slightly 'off'. If they're going to be that far away from the edge of the building then they probably should be a few units taller.

I must say; that flower cart is one the most brilliantly executed subtleties I've seen in a while.

^^To be fair, mainstreet lamps are really quite small.

I find that having these lamps this small actually helps give the feeling and scale of disney.

This is beautiful. Great little touches everywhere... I love it.

Ha, that's so true. Restrooms are impossible to find at MK.

This is really nice, tho. A tad bit dark but I can deal with that. I don't care for the checkered path as it looks tacky here, there are better ways to give that look without literally making a black and white floor. Just mess with colors and such to see if you can make something look nicer.

What's that two-tone brick texture you've used on 2 different buildings? I want it :)

  • disneylandian192%s's Photo

    A colorable 1/4 block I made.

Is it released already, or do I have to wait for this park?

  • disneylandian192%s's Photo

It will probably just be released with the park. There's a tiny problem with it where one of the four angles is floating a pixel above where it sits in the other three angles. Its not a huge deal most of the time, at least not yet. I want to go back in and fix this before I give it to folks though.

I agree.  This scale works really well.  I have never really been a fan of the overly-detailed and over-scaled Disney parks, but you nailed it with this.

EDIT: After looking at this again, your "second story" windows on the corner building are way too big and don't comply with the scale of the rest of the buildings.

Perfect execution. I want those multicolored brick tiles!

Grab a bite at the Main Street Bakery, purchase some flowers for someone special, or, unlike at the Magic Kingdom, actually find a bathroom where it makes 100% sense to put one.
