Instantly reminds me of playing thru the campaign of Call of Duty 2 on PS2 as a kid. That game follows a U.S. infantry division in their battles across Africa + Europe, including Normandy.
I don't think I've ever seen such a war diorama depicted in rct before, you've done a lot with so many new/custom textures to make this look more like Civ or some other game. This is gritty, rather than crunchy, I think because of the smoke clouds / fog added in there.
For some reason, it's making me think more broadly about portrayals of military & war in video games.
On the one hand, I did learn something about world conflict thru that old COD game (before the zombie modes & online toxicity of later titles), and genuinely mourned some of the character deaths (RIP Pvt Brooklyn). But there's the other aspect of government using video games for military recruitment.
With that slight tangent out of the way, I guess the only criticism I have is...
When i saw war theme by you i feared its going to be too comics-like. But you proved me wrong. This is very good. Considering this is an old project just shows your full potential. The fog works perfectly here.
Thanks to all ! Indeed it's very inspired by Blitzkrieg and its little brother Sudden Strike that I loved
@posix My next release is on a much more family theme, I just like to explore many themes, history is something I really like and ww2 is part of the history in my region

Ha had a similar flashback with this too, feels a lot like some of the CODWWII maps.
Another great display of skill here, very atmospheric, I think you nailed it.
I'm sorting through my old projects that I didn't show, so I'm sharing with you a little diorama of the Normandy landscape during the D-Day landings. I hope not to create any controversy with the theme.

This is crazy. The black walls make it feel like a diorama.

Love this! Always wanting to see more military rct. Definitely the kind of serious theme that I wish more people (including myself) were building.
Posix, I am curious why you hate it?
