I think that timeline parks are a really great way to be incentivized to make a large park. There ain't no way that I'd make a massive park like this all at once - and I also would probably not get anywhere near something so nice.

I think that if DKMP does a timeline park contest next year, and I decide to do it though, that I will definitely not be making something in the desert, lol.

I like the layout here, how it fits into that fairly small space for a mine train but still has that arrow mine train look. Took a look at your entry from the last stage too and it's a nice park you've got going.

The portcullis doors as windows with shutters is an extremely creative touch

The arrival of the 1980s led to more park growth, cleaning up its appearance, paving many paths and relocating numerous trees from the nearby mountains. The final main buildings of the ghost town were restored at last, giving Brent his long held dream.

The biggest change to the park however, came when a local college gained university status, leading to an influx of young adults to the area. While Cerro Plata had long proved popular with families, Brent knew he needed something bigger to draw the college crowds, and he began drawing up elaborate plans for a new, more impressive roller coaster.

In 1984 the park’s Sterling Creek Mine Train opened. While many were impressed with the theming, the thrills weren’t quite what had been hoped. The manufacturer, Arrow, had been installing more intense corkscrew coasters for years now, and the mine train was a bit underwhelming by comparison. With the cost incurred however, another roller coaster was out of the cards for a good while.

There was a more pressing matter however - as the park began to grow into a full day trip for many, one complaint from guests stood out - the heat. While many of the ghost town buildings had air conditioning as well as the new bumper cars, it was obvious more was needed. Brent knew that a swimming pool would be a perfect addition - but water restrictions, both natural and legal, would prove difficult.
