Description
The OG transfer track. Making the roundhouse was fun; having to do Dirty American Realism™ and crunching into 1:30 in the night constantly loading up other parks for reference was not. Maybe I should have done my Portal transfer track instead.

That turntable is sick! This screen gives me super wooden train set vibes and im all for it.
And the patchwork here with the curves is really nice.

Nice! Makes me crave having actual american locos in the game though

The american locomotive isn't american enough?

I've tried and failed a couple of times to build a roundhouse in RCT, this one is pretty nice. I also like locomotive on the display track with the plaque by it. Good stuff.

That's a really nice and original way to do transfer tracks. I bet Jappy will love this as a train fanatic

Nice idea, turning (no pun intended) a boring, necessary piece of coaster infrastructure into a feature that guests can enjoy. I think you could take this idea one step further, and make the turntable a part of the ride experience as a switch track.

or even just have it AFTER the station so it is enjoyed as a bit of foreplay before the ride proper? get you hype

Honestly something American which isn't as theme park-y as the default American-style trains or the ones you did would be a nice addition. Something that could be a background prop for an older park sorta like the commuter trains in Bethlehem Steelworks or Washuzan.
Dirty American realism is honestly not my strong suit and my theme park archi needs a lot of work. Is there a good resource anywhere for improving at it, or is street view and loading up other parks the way to go? Maybe a more realistic design is in order so I can get the hang of that kind of thing.
If I were to flesh this out into a full design, these are some great ideas! The functional turntable reminds me of the Tromso Adventure Train from Grand Tour. Still one of the craziest things I've seen in RCT2.

@Gustav: Just raise the poles up a unit or two.. that would help. G Force has some good station design in Southwinds if you're going for a more plain rectangle shape. I think the little extension of the roof out half a tile makes it look shorter, so just add some height!

gee! nice idea, good work

Well it's a very stereotypical wild west locomotive. Something that's a bit more 1900 - 1950 would be fantastic, and honestly I'm surprised that no one has made some custom freight trains or anything.
Even more so I'd love just properly scaled trains not at theme park scale. But it's a lot to ask for a coaster game where many other custom things are more desired by others.

It's not easy to make a full-scale locomotive in RCT2 just because of the one-tile constraint CTRs face. Any larger and you get a glitchy mess that clips into the track and the vehicles behind it because of the way RCT2 draws sprites. Kenos attempted to make a full scale train without any glitching but this was as big as he could get. Even though the height is right, this gave the train a cartoonish proportion. He tried a full-scale high-speed train but it came out the same way. The Japanese locomotive I used as the display exhibit is pretty much as big as you're gonna get while maintaining realistic proportions. Even then though, I'm also on the realistic non-theme park-y American steam train... train.
