I see the effort and the skill, but I just completely cannot take in this kind of work, for it is so packed that it lacks a composition almost entirely.
I have to agree with posix a little bit. This is just so jam packed with material, that composition is practically nonexistant. However, to me, that's the appeal of this mysterious work of wonder.
The skill, the amount of sheer volitude with this is amazing....but that comes with being unable to discover how odd and great this work is. I
See I think it's completely the opposite for me. The 'packed'ness of it is what makes this feel like such a good representation of Paris through this mans dreams.
I still believe this to be by far the best non-realism park ever created on NE. Like, it's not even close. This park just has such a unique premise and tells a story unlike anything else we've seen before or after it. I don't think the rct is the best rct we've ever seen, but it's solid enough to support the story telling.
If I created a list of 'must see parks' for any new player, this would be very close to the top.
This park is very much of a time where macro was really put aside in favor of micro detailing, H2H6 was probably the peak of this era and this is a great example of that. Over the past year or two I think we've finally been working out way out of that, and it will probably show in the next major contest. To me both criticisms are valid. But the park works perfectly how it is, however I do feel some of the stuff is a bit weaker than other areas, this being one of them.
I love fantasy style parks. The lack of reference at specific situations pushes your creativity to the limit. And thats a good thing imo, since you have free pass in most situations.
I'd like to see more surrealism references, like the coaster reaching the clouds. Maybe some engines and pipes to make it more steampunk, floating ships or really crazy roller coasters. It'd be really challenge, though, and maybe you have no more space left lol
I used to love it because it's seemed so imaginative and immersive, but looking at it again it's definitely a bit cramped and stressful. I also don't think it's the best looking section of the park to take a screen of (though I'm sure thats because the best bits are already well captured).
I always enjoyed building like this a ton more than building with a really set plan.. we had a list of ideas, and then tried to get as many of them onto the map as we could, with one eye on making it look good (as I recall).
The theme was just so exciting, and led to so many complimentary ideas, that this park basically built itself.

To put it in context, it's really good.

pos thats because ur trying to appreciate this as a park or a tangible area rather than impressionisitic art
i dont like some elements of the color scheme, mainly the gold/black/dark purple but texturally its super strong

Micro detailing and spectacle to me are the definition of 'H2H mode'.
Calx, this isn't ivo's taboo, is it? I think your point would be valid there, not here.

Still don't get the appeal of this. Like posix said, it certainly shows skill, but it comes off as a mess to me.
