Description
An Intamin mega coaster I made today.
I realize that wing coaster trains would be more realistic than LSM trains, but my wing coaster trains look awful and the LSM trains do look quite similar to Intamin mega coaster trains at this scale. I didn't want to model a new train for this.
Also, there's no catwalk because I couldn't find a steep catwalk object that doesn't glitch horribly. I considered rendering the catwalk directly into the lift sprites like on the 4th dimension track, but my render isn't up to doing this yet. -

There's lots of bugs like that to work out - in principle, I can do anything an existing track type does, but that doesn't mean I've done it yet. This is still a work in progress.
Great sprites! Would be very useful. Not sure if anyone mentioned it already, but the diagonal hill track on the far right of the screen does not seem to align perfectly.
Yes, they are misaligned. The problem is that the steep track sprite actually includes pixels that ought to belong to the previous track piece, so unless the previous track piece is also a steep slope, there will be misalignment (even the default sprites have some).
I am considering changing how these sprites are rendered, as it's the only way to fix the problem.
wow super cool.
I think the rendering looks too matte though, it needs brighter highlights to match the games other steel coasters.
Here's what it looks like with specular turned on. I think it is an improvement, though I feel this might be a little too much specular. The discontinuity on the diagonal hills is now far too obvious, it will have to be fixed I think.
This is way too cool. It looks absolutely excellent with the highlights.
if you are able to make the spines a little darker, including the highlights, it may help.
What's more concerning to me right now is the transitions - I can't figure out how they are split. Right now, I don't split them, which causes glitching. I need to fix this before I start adding more pieces.
So great. I'm very glad there's still people like you working on custom content.
This.
Incredible work, X7! I prefer the version with specular turned on, I think it fits in with the game's original graphics very well.
