did you guys consider the fact that it might be outrageous on purpose? i think the colours and scale are a nice change from normal. dont be too concerned following the advice of people who tell you to do stuff without good reason.
I think it would be a good idea to continue to improve your overall understanding of form. check out some of the high scoring parks on the database and maybe jot down a little list of the things you think they did well. in the top scoring parks it might be "everything" (hence why they are so well liked) but identifying some individual things might help you on your journey.
my other tip is to continue to use your imagination, and continue to build lots and lots! look forward to whatever you show us in future.
Not very realistic, but I used to build things like this when I started, too. I can recognize the fun in it. Colours are lovely, but architecture leaves a lot to be desired.
