Red One with Yellow Inversions! I meant for it to be like the phoenix rising from it's ashes!

I guess I have some difficulty appreciating this screen, and many like it. historyfreak92, it looks like you are enjoying making what you make. And that's wonderful. But here is somewhere to showcase "designs". And not just design accolades, but parkmarking in general. And by that, I mean something where someone took the time to think of an idea and execute it to the highest level they can muster. To make it convincing. It's one thing to have an idea, it's another to implement it successfully. Your creations have the idea part, but the execution is just not there at the moment. It just looks like layouts plopped down, with some trees added, and path strewn about.

Take some time to think about the ride. It's appearance, it's setting, how it looks from different angles to the RCT view, but also to an actual park guest. Think about how the ride is set in it's surroundings. Think about the overall experience. The flow of the track, the look of the supports and structure. Think about the ride skyline and how the landscape makes the ride feel at home in it's environment. Think about pacing, and transitions between elements. Rides don't have to be designed after a specific manufacturer, but it just is hard for me to like something if it looks like the rider wouldn't survive (heck even some of my layouts have this problem, we all are learning). Same goes with generating moments of severe whiplash or other uncomfortable elements. Physics still applies, even if you're not building strict realism, keep that in mind.

Think about what it would be like to be a guest wandering the park. Think about their experience. What they see, how fun it is to just look around, admire the setting, all of it. Try to make spots that would make you fumbling around for your camera in hurried excitement because that view is so cool you just have to get a picture of it. Try to make moments that make guests say "remember that awesome vacation to that park and how cool the setting and fun the rides were?" when they are relaxing in the evening with family and friends back home.

That's what this site is about. You have the drive, now unleash the ability. We all learn and grow. We all have the ability to change for the better if we choose to give it our best. Just like members grow and become more mature on forums (sometimes haha, there are exceptions), people's skill can grow and mature also. Given the time and drive to accomplish, you can do great things. I just don't want your profile to be a wall of low ranked screens.

I understand sephiroth i wouldnt mind changing some only if i had time too but im going through some bad family troubles and being screaming at and i know its not an excuse i just never messed with custom scenery, or kind of build nicely i just had fun building a lot of stuff and i know in real life it would be dangerous if that what you meant, and i admire your speech and i do not expect my profile to be high or anywhere or anybody to like my parks just to show and i understand this site is very different!

    Thank you!

Sephiroth is on point. I agree entirely. You keep saying you understand this site is different; if you truly understand that, it's time to start showing it.

this belongs on reddit/r/rct in my opinion. Its not bad, it will get some likes, but it is not the content that NE usually promotes. Take a look at "other" screenshots

Btw I suspect this stuff might be right up SupraTheHedgehog's alley.

Oh and is this green coaster Shambhala? It really has a Port Aventura vibe.

Oh and is this green coaster Shambhala? It really has a Port Aventura vibe.

Does it? Because I don't think it has a Port Aventura vibe. I don't think it has any vibe. I don't think any coaster here has any vibe!  I would give constructive criticism but I, and dozens other in the community, can only do that so many times without any change or improvement or even acknowledgement from HistoryFreak92. His name now seeming more fitting because he loves the history or his own screenshots so much, he reposts them from anywhere he can. It's like I'm looking through a time portal

I'll just go on and write a long rant comment as well...

New Element isn't a site for sharing screenshots like these. New Element is a community of people who strive to create the best RCT work possible. Everyone takes desigining and building things in RCT very seriously, and while there are plenty of RCT communities who definitely enjoy scenario play more than using RCT as a design tool, here on New Element, RCT play is a very professional thing. Nobody here gives a damn about people who open a map and spam it full of coasters. Your screenshots show no thought in professional RCT design. This is just a screen of a whole bunch of weirdly coloured coasters between a bunch of random trees. There's no architecture, there's no careful coaster design, there's no realistic landscaping, there's nothing in your work that is valuable to the community here.

I think Sephiroth made a good point, and a whole good comment at that. But you haven't really made a steady reply to any part of it. Your only excuse really is that you have issues with your family. Yes, you said it's not an excuse, but at the same time it's the only substantial thing in your defense. Well, let me tell you something, i've been going through a lot of rough things involving my family and my home situation has been getting worse since around when i joined New Element. The first screenshot i ever uploaded here was very similar to your screenshots, it was a crappy scenario map with a whole bunch of coasters spammed onto it. It was not well received, for obvious reasons. But i learnt from that. I didn't post any scenario screenshots after that, except for one or two where i actually put some thought into designing some stuff in the park. I started looking around all the other screenshots that were being posted, taking inspiration from them, and trying to replicate them in an effort to learn more about RCT mapmaking. Right now, i feel as if it has definitely paid off. I don't have anything really good uploaded to my profile right now, but at least i took all the time that i haven't uploaded any work, and spent it all on improving my RCT skills - which is something i'm much more proud of than i would've been if i'd spent all those 3 years posting random scenario screenshots on New Element and going nowhere in the process.

My home situation didn't prevent me from playing RCT. It didn't prevent me from learning anything about coaster creation, or designing architecture, or hacking the game. If you have the time to build stuff like this, you definitely have the time to work on your RCT skills. But instead you keep posting the same crap over and over again whilst everyone keeps repeating that they don't like it. If you really want that to change, if you really understand what this community is truly about, then you'd better listen to what everyone is saying and practice some more advanced RCT stuff, unless you want to get poor ratings on your submissions forever.
