    IMO just the island would be the better choice, but if you can make the other land part work, go for it!

    Depends on what you're going to do on the other land part. If you can fill it up with fitting stuff, go for yellow, if not, red should be your choice.

    I've considered to cut the map along the red line at the beginning. But now I prefer the yellow one. And which one do you guys prefer?
