Really nice levels in this, with the path making its way through it all. I also like the somewhat different choice of colours on the mine train too. Helps it stand out.
OK, so even if you're not hacking the water level, can you at least change the edge type to ice to help it blend better with the water?
I did actually decide to raise the water level for the rapids apart from the white water sections, and for all bare rock sections in the water, I've changed to ice.

zero-clearances->raise water. It'll make the rapids look cleaner and more realistic without that gap between them and the water.

That's true, but I'd prefer the white water look off than have gaps, personally. To me it's the difference between fake or unfinished/sloppy.

You've got the more important macro basics down, and you can't hack these.
