The appeal to me is the nostalgia this bring of a simpler time in RCT where details and standards weren't as high. Some of the appeal to me is just how simple and clever some of the park is.
Not sure if I'd vote it spotlight, despite my love for the park. To me it seems like a mix between a Faas and Jappy park with a pinch of CP6 for the coasters and backstage stuff. I don't know if something like that would garner a spotlight today.
But I can never decide on these type of questions, its to hard to go back and retroactively rate parks based on today's standards. Especially something like this which is so established and influential.

This park has always underwhelmed me. Never clicked.

I agree. And it also gives me more of a real themepark feeling than those parks. I would still give this a 90%/95% and 'yes' nowadays.
