There's a ton of color in the first screen which isn't necessarily a good thing. It lacks cohesion because nothing matches or goes together. Tying tuning it down a bit (matching roof styles, colors, etc).
I think there's a lot of unusual combinations here: a mix of paths, textures, geographical locations even. I actually don't mind the colours as I think it helps to make the entrance area more welcoming, but I am confused as to the purpose of certain parts of the buildings. Nice location for the monorail though. I assume the station is in there?
Try to use the land tool to make rocks, and only use the quarter blocks to smoothen it out. Quarter block only rock formations tend to look out of place.

Chocotopian: Yes, the station is in that building. I chose some different paths to put some emphasis on the statues location.
