Description
My Mack mega coaster trains are now finished (actually, they were finished a few days ago, but it took me this long to make this layout).
I wanted to render new track sprites for this but I didn't have time (I only have the code for that on my desktop, but I spent most of the weekend modifying OpenRCT2's object saving code instead), so I just merged it with B&M track instead. That breaks the block system, so this screenshot had to be edited to show two trains on the course (it actually only runs one).
The lighting settings were changed from those used on my previous rides and I think they look better now. I may update older rides to use the new lighting, and to tweak some other stuff that wasn't quite right with them (like friction values).
The excitement rating is set too high IMO, but it runs on giga coaster track, and while I can increase the base excitement I can't decrease it, so this will have to do. - Full-Size

What I plan to do for track sprites is take the model of a short straight section of track, and then transform it based on a description of each element. So I'll have a script generate all the sprites from a single model - I don't draw sprites by hand like you do because there's just too many needed, and when you have multiple angles it's hard to make sure they all agree with each other.
RCT2's track rendering code is highly redundant - there is a seperate function for every view angle of every track piece of every track type. This needs to be refactored before serious changes can take place, and I'm not sure I have the skills to do it - so even if I had rendered custom track for this it would still be just a sprite swap.

so does that mean they are released?

^ omg that site is amazing

You've done a great job with these trains. They're brilliant.
I hope you continue to create more trains in the future. Anything planned?

Looks really nice. I'm amazed how much time and effort you put into this. BTW, any chance we'll ever see an RMC track from you?

chemist: I made this site before I did the dive coaster. Only the Mack trains are new here.
Lagom:
I don't have any immediate plans for a new train, it'll be another few months before I start most likely. All the major candidates for the next train would be stuff I've mentioned already - staggered B&M hyper trains, S&S free fly, Intamin accelerator, etc. Unless someone else has an idea that's a really good fit for the game, it will probably be one of those.
I do plan to resume work on the ride generator (which hasn't seen much work since the summer. It'd be nice if I could get it released by the end of April, because that would be a year since I released my first ride. However, I'm doubtful that will happen, because the code is a mess of memory leaks and segfaults, and it's due a major refactor.
I also want to start making custom scenery. Since there is a lot of similarities between the ride files and scenery files, I'd like to reuse as much code as possible, but that means generalizing my existing code to cover both cases. Some of that work has already begun, but there's some way to go. If I could create my own support set with some non-glitchy catwalks, that would be nice.
Live on earths ass:
I already have an RMC train.

Yeah, I meant the track, not the train.

You mean like this? (animated version, may be slow to download)
F0ndue Offline
Yup.
Yup, exactly like that.

So what's your question? I thought I already explained what I did in that thread.
F0ndue Offline
NVM, I got something mixed up.

In case anyone is interested, here's the link to the rest of the screenshots. There is a link on the download page as well, but I thought I'd post a direct link here for completeness.

omg why so handsome
btw, the friction value for these trains is perfect

That's good, I had some complaints about the friction value on some of my other trains.
