I think steeper gable ornamentation is pretty essential for pulling off the Dutch/Flemmish look. Your buildings are just not 'vertical' enough I feel. Another thing I think is important, is some consistency in the textures, colours and shapes. In the pic, most buildings date from the same era, and therefore share a lot of traits. Look at the windows, almost all identical. In your screen, they share nothing. That's why it slips towards genericness.
It's certainly very classical/classy, and I'd say it's one of the most serious screens I've seen. I can't pretend to know anything about this kind of architecture, but I'd certainly say this was believable as a recreation-style build.
The centerpiece of Keverdal Kingdom, based on the "oude stad" (old city) part of the open-air museum Bokrijk. It fitted my usual style, yet formed a challenge to capture the look and feel.

Made some detail changes in textures and windows. I do want it to be just a little different from the original. Thanks for the tips, Liam, it helps!
