I don't think the problem is with the land texture under the water, but rather that the rapids track is visible. Consider making that invisible. Might want to consider adding some underwater foliage/rockwork as well.
I also don't think that changing trunk colours is really the best way to add colour, flowers on the other hand...(I could see a few sporadically placed yellow/purple flowers could help here).
Beautiful screen! Really nice work there, the interaction of the two rides is lovely! I'm working on RR in my new park, but I'm building it a unit higher and then running it in crooked house mode to eliminate the track (and it drops a full unit), but I guess this may be beyond that step now. I think the rapids are bit messy, I wonder what it looks like if you use the actual rapids from the ride track itself. It would give the effect below the water and then maybe erase some of the rapids above.

Really nice coaster interaction. Love the colours and the atmosphere.
The only thing that bothers me is the track of the rapids ride.
I would try to make it invisible.
